Hello, after months and months of waiting for my hubby's appt. for his immigrant visa we had our day at the embassy this past Wednesday. We waited outside from 10 to 10:00 for our 10:30 appt. and finally got into the building about 11:30. Called up about an hour into our wait to the first window where a fairly pleasant lady took his documents to check over. She was very matter of fact with it and while he was off paying commented that my husband had a grammer school education. . .strange, I thought. About 2 hours after that we were called for the actual interview. The young American woman who did the interview, never once looked at us. She kept her eyes glued to the computer screen the whole time, asked two questions, did we own a house in the UK (yes) and did we have a mortgage (no). We were at the window about 3 minutes in all and the visa was issued. Off we went to stand in the courier queues for about 30 minutes and then we were out and away. Less than 36 hours from the time we left the embassy the courier arrived with my husband's visa. This whole process takes entirely too long but our overall experience with the actual embassy was good.
