Okay here's my lengthy (really lengthy!) review...
We showed up at 8:20-ish for our 9:00 interview, and had no problems in line--in fact, they were letting people with 9:30 interview times wait. My confirmation email seemed fine (good thing, especially since we STILL haven't received the official letter!) and we got through no problem. We went through the security area and discovered that I had forgotten to take my American cell phone out of my bag, which was super annoying (we had left the UK mobiles and other electronics across the street at our hotel). Spurs went in while I ran the phone back, and they were great about letting me back in.
Unfortunately, since we didn't have the official letter, the guy giving out numbers at the front gave us a 2000-level number (for E-visas) instead of a 5000-level (for immigrants). We didn't think twice about it until 2 hours later when we finally got called up to one of the small number windows (as others have said on... read complete review

Arrived at the Embassy just after 7.30 for 8am appointment time. Waited in line outside for just 15 minutes before being let through security and into the building. Was given a ticket number and went to wait in the waiting area. It wasn't at all like I imagined, actually thought it was fairly relaxed! I was 2nd in line for immigrant visas out of I think a total of 8. THere were nearer to 100 non-immigrant visas being processed that day.
i got called up after only 15 mins and gave in my paperwork. He asked for my birth certificate and copy and police certificate and copy, then for the affidavit and tax returns. I had 2 tax returns from Luke but not for 2007 so he asked if I had that or anything else. I gave him a letter from his employer and from his bank. While he was looking at those I also mentioned that I have savings too. He asked how much and i told himm and said I had a bank statement with me if he wanted it. He said "yes, because this isn't enough"... I didn't kn... read complete review

I arrived at the embassy at about 8.10am for my 9am appointment, the line to go through security was pretty long but I got inside by about 8.40. I waited until 10.30 to get called up to the first window. That was all over pretty quickly, I gave her my documents, paid my fee and then sat down and waited for my number to be called again. At about 11.30 my number got called up, I was asked how we met, he asked to see my ring, asked about how my partner proposed to me, where he works and how long he had worked there and that was it! He didn't want to see anything else despite my carrying lots of heavy stuff with me. In the end it was very painless.

0830 appointment.
Was in the queue for 8am.
Queue had 20 people in it. Was inside embassy by 0845.
Was called to the first windon within 30 mins. A few simple questions from a nice man. Was told to pay fee and come back with receipt. Did so, then told to sit down again & wait to be be called again. 30 mins later called to see nice lady officer.
Ask few simple questions as posted by everyone else submitting a review.
Officer was very nice, smiley, and you could tell she was on your side.
Was told she was approving my application and took my passport.
Awesome.
