Hi, complicated time for us... We filed for a CR1/CR2 initially last year, or so we thought. Turns out we should have filed a separate I-130 for my 11 year old daughter. Did not realise this until after I-130 was approved. So we have a compassionate filing for my daughter, DCF, alongside my CR1.
I think it took several miracles that my daughter's papers were considered at the same interview as me. I had to hand in her I-864 things and submit documents, as well as going over my things. Daughter was only told she could be at the interview at 3pm on Friday. I had sooooo much paperwork with me.
So ! We had train tickets, and accomodation booked for both of us. My husband was coming over for the interview, so I knew she could be with him if she was not to be interviewed. (It counted as a separate case, so the below 14 rule did not apply. (Medical for her was added to mine cos I asked, a lot of begging along the way.) Anyways, appointment was for 9am. We arri... read complete review

Well my interview appointment was for 09:00 on Monday morning. I got a train down the night before and stayed in a TraveLodge in Marylebone which was a 10 minute cab ride away from the Embassy.
I woke up at 07:00 and left by 07:50. I got a cab from outside Marylebone station and arrived at the Embassy at around 08:00. I joined the line and got in and got my number at 08:28. i659 was my number. I was first called at about 09:00 to window 13 and he took my fingerprints and gave me my chest X-Ray back, and I provided my birth certificate, Police certificate, financial support and while he looked at that I paid the fee in the next window. I then went back to the guy and he had an inch thick pink file! I made a joke about the pink file and after a short while he said to go back and wait to be called again.
I was called back at about 09:45 and went to window 15. It was an American lady and she was very nice. She took my fingerprints, made me sign a document and ... read complete review

They didn't like the birth certificates, they wanted the "long version" for our kids. Also they wanted different police reports than the ones we had. So we've been approved pending us sending in the new documents.

Was up nice and early and headed into London getting to the Embassy just before 0700 for an 0800 interview. Thankfully it was a glorious morning, so hanging around outside the Embassy was fine but be prepared if inclement weather is forecast; there is no shelter!
I was forth in the queue, the others were applying for non-immigrant visas, and the line grew VERY rapidly from just after 0700 onwards. There were no staff posted outside until 0730 so my tip, if you have an 0800 interview is just to get there nice and early despite the letter telling you not to get there until half-hour before.
At 0730 a lady came over and asked to see appointment letters and told us to prepare for security screening. The Embassy has airport style screening, however absolutely NO electronic devices are permitted. No phones, no ipods, no car alarm zappers. Nothing, you will be turned away if you do. Security only took a minute or so and then it was on to the reception. ... read complete review

9am interview. Queue took about 20 minutes to get inside the building.
Don't forget to make sure you don't bring electronic items or phones with you as you will NOT be be able to enter with them.
I waited for 1 hour before I was called up. Was asked for my interview letter, 2 photos, my fingerprints taken, and then the documents from the checklist (police certificates etc). I was also given my chest x-ray from my medical to take to the US.
Sat down again and waited another 1.5 hours until I was called again for the final step. Was asked to sign a form and write my fiancé's name in the space. Then asked a few questions about how we met, when we got engaged, where he lives...
Then...APPROVED!
Pretty simple & straightforward. Very friendly staff at each stage.
A LOT of waiting so bring a book!
They DO accept credit card for the payment of the visa, as well as GBP and USD cash, but not personal ch... read complete review
