Arrived at 0820 for 0900 appointment, got to security hut at 0900, and got my ticket at 0911.
Waited, and waited, and waited, and got increasingly frustrated as people that arrived after me were called to the windows before me, and worked out that only Window 1 was calling "I" series tickets. I was eventually called to the first window at 1050. The lady that saw me seemed rather stressed, and admonished me for bringing two copies with the original instead of one copy, but confirmed all was in order and told me to go and pay the cashier, then come back.
Cashier was fine, had a bit of a laugh with her, but be aware if you pay by card, they put it through as US Dollars, and the amount that comes out of your account is much higher than the amount they put on the ticket, and your bank charges commission on top of it!! (On my ticket it said £219, and I actually got charged £229 on my statement) Returned to Window 1 with my receipt, told to take a seat and ... read complete review

Wary of the thought of being late for my interview with the massive queues that are said to form outside the US Embassy in London, I showed up 2 hours early just to be sure (appointment was 10.00). In the end this was a good idea as it took 70 minutes to get through the queue, initial letter and passport check and then the security check at the gate. This all went pretty smoothly though the staff outside were a bit abrupt - guess you would be too if you had to deal with lots of mildly confused and apprehensive people all day every day.
In through the VISA entrance and a quick check in at the reception desk where I got my ticket number to watch for on the screens. Into the waiting area where I was 45 minutes early but still kept my eyes glued to the screen just in case. As it was, I was called at 10.10 and went to the window of a lady who was a little difficult to understand (it's hard to hear them through those screens) but I gave her all the documents she required - qu... read complete review

Hi
We had our interview last week ad I finally wanted to post a review for everyone still waiting for theirs!
So we had an 8.00 appointment but got there at 6.45 just to make sure. We were the first people there and started queuing. At 7.30 the line was getting longer and they put a small desk out and started checking peoples invitations. My husband (the USC) had to show his passport and they wrote his name on the letter. A security guy then checked the letter ad our passports again before we went into a small building where they did like a security check like at the airport (no cell phones, car keys etc allowed!).
We then went inside and showed the letter again to the receptionist. She then said we should take a seat next to window 1 (we were the first people in). She said the interviews would start at 8.
We were the first people to be called to the window and an Asian lady started taking our documents (birth certificate and marriage certificate). ... read complete review

My Fiance went in, He said there were about 300 people there, numbers being called every minute. They were all I numbers and he was an N Number, he was the 3rd N number and it took a couple of hours before he was called. He brought cards and letter in the event they wanted to look at them. One of the cards was a music card that plays when you open it and was told at the security check point he would have to throw it away, it had a battery in it and well you never know what one might do with that tiny battery. Anyway, at the first desk they wanted the police cert, a copy of my tax return, just look briefly at the I-134 and returned it but kept the tax document. He said they didn't even look at the W-2 form. DVD of the X-ray they wanted, birth cert...and if you've filled out packet 4, it says I-160, the online document now replaces I-156 & 157 well they wanted a copy of the 156, but they gave it to him and he was able to fill out and give back then and there.
He did not say h... read complete review

I found the interview very straight forward.
I was prepared for the worst but the staff was very helpful especially when I had redone the DS156 into the new DS160.
I did throw away the DS156 as it stated on the embassy website that the DS156 is now replaced By the DS160 which need to be filled on line.javascript:emoticon(' ')
It could have gone all wrong as they only wanted to see the old DS156 , but they gave me the form to fill out there and then.
Otherwise I had everything except the kitchen sink javascript:emoticon(' ')
I gave them all the papers , but they did not wanted to see the chat logs or prove on ongoing relationship, which I had all ready to show.
I needed some translations for my birth certificate and German police certificate, witch I translated myself without the notary bit, but made a statement to the correctness myself.
At the end of the interview I was ask to swear that all the info... read complete review
