Arrived about 45 minutes early and there was a significant queue. I didn't need to drop anything off at the coffee shop to be stored, but others said it was £10, and you got a free coffee after collection.
I joined the queue 30 minutes before my interview. I provided my DS260 confirmation document and passport and got directed through the security checkpoint. I was asked to turn on my phone and open any app but the guard at the door. After going through the normal airport style security check I opened the worlds heaviest door to the courtyard (if you struggle to open it, ask for help it's really heavy).
Going into the building I joined another short queue and was asked a few questions about my visa type and had some stickers applied to my ds260 confirmation and was sent upstairs one floor to the 1st floor.
I was sent to 19-25, which is a left and all the way round the side of the embassy. I was called up to the booth within a minute or ... read complete review

I had my interview in March this year (2022). There was quite a queue outside the consulate in Vauxhall, London, but once it got moving it passed quickly through security into the outside inner courtyard, then into the main building to join quite long queues in the main building foyer. (NOTE: extremely obvious to most but me, but do remember to take a face mask. The rules on facemasks may have been eased by now, but check or take one anyway. I felt a bit silly not having one back in March this year. Fortunately, a kindly chap in the queue had spares and saved me having to go and find one.) Counter staff came and went over a period of about 20 minutes and we all waited silently with no indication as to what was going on or how long this initial registering process would take. Then the counters opened and things got moving, went into the lift to the first floor, and it was a relief to realise the K1 visa applications were far fewer in number than other kinds, and that they had their own ... read complete review

The whole process was pretty straight forward and a lot less scary than I was imagining!
Had my appointment in the morning, I arrived early as I literally did not sleep at all the night before, so hung around the area until it was close to my time. Embassy was extremely busy, but they will not let you enter unless your appointment is within 30 minutes (many people were getting turned away and told to wait by the side). You queue up and go through airport style security. The lady at the front told me once through security to skip the queue and go straight to the front (this felt so weird to me)... The queue says US Citizens but this is the correct line to get in. Went up 1 floor and into the immigrant section (the man upstairs directed me but the person downstairs tells you where to go too).
Was called straight away to the window and they asked for my original birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate and courier confirmation. They check... read complete review

Arrived in London at about 9:45 and after I made sure I had all my paperwork in somewhat order that I understood I went in the q.
At 10:15 I checked in with the ds 260 and they told me to ignore the line and go through security, did just that, and at the second desk they told me and a lot of others they’re still dealing with the people that have they’re interview at 10:00( I was for 10:30) . We waited and waited and at 10:45-50 they put my sticker on my ds250 and told me to go upstairs left and left ( look for numbers 20 and 21). I’ve waited some more time there and eventually my number was called.
The lady was so nice and patient with me( was so anxious I’ve started to visibly start shaking) and I gave her my birth certificate, marriage license, police backgrounds and in my case divorce papers.
She said my papers look right and they received my medical and everything was ok. She asked if I have a date planned to travel, said yes and gav... read complete review

Initially this was going to be a review of my greencard interview experience however I never got to the greencard interview after, luckily, finding out my then husband had been cheating on me.
I stayed in the Uk
Otherwise I have attended the US Embassy on several
Occasions with my dual citizen children for passport renewals and never encountered any issues. As long as you follow the instructions given to you before hand and as you go.
