The whole process was pretty straight forward and a lot less scary than I was imagining!
Had my appointment in the morning, I arrived early as I literally did not sleep at all the night before, so hung around the area until it was close to my time. Embassy was extremely busy, but they will not let you enter unless your appointment is within 30 minutes (many people were getting turned away and told to wait by the side). You queue up and go through airport style security. The lady at the front told me once through security to skip the queue and go straight to the front (this felt so weird to me)... The queue says US Citizens but this is the correct line to get in. Went up 1 floor and into the immigrant section (the man upstairs directed me but the person downstairs tells you where to go too).
Was called straight away to the window and they asked for my original birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate and courier confirmation. They checked all the financial docs that was submitted via NVC on their screen (I had print outs but they didn't want it). Took finger prints and she just asked me when do I plan on going to America. Gave me a letter to read on domestic violence and was told to take a seat and wait for my number to be called for the interview.
The wait for my interview was over an hour but once called up, it lasted about 10 minutes, they asked me the following questions
* Who is petitioning you?
* When and how did you met?
* What was the last time you saw each other?
* Where did you get married?
* What does he do for a living?
* What do you do for a living?
* Where will you live in America?
* When will you travel?
After that he told me I was approved!! All staff that day were so friendly and the process was as straight forward as it could be. I actually need my passport this weekend so I asked if I could send in my passport later or if that would be a problem, he gave me a green slip saying my visa will show as refused until I send in the passport and then it will take 10-15 days. Told me I would get instructions on how to send in my passport in 1-2 days via email but it came a couple hours after my interview.
