We arrived at consulate at about 7:15am and we were 3rd in line. We waited until about 8:30am outside then we were directed to go inside. We got a number as we entered and then we sat down and shortly after sitting down he got called to the window to give his papers(he gave them evidence, supporting papers, the DS forms), and I went to the window with him everytime he had to go, they did NOT tell me to sit down. After giving the forms he was directed to do finger prints and then we sat for about 10 minutes then we were called to the window again, at this time we did not know it was the interview until she asked him to raise his hand. It was a very simple process, as she asked him many questions about our co-sponsor and when we met the first time. then she said come back Tuesday and pick up your passport. Yes, 2 days later!!!! We were finished in about 30 minutes.
Very simple interview!

Interview was scheduled Oct 2nd at 8am and since I'll be coming over from Dubai and the earliest bus to Abu Dhabi is 6am, Ive decided to book a decent hotel at an affordable price to stay overnight. The hotel's name is Executive Suites in Muroor Rd, only 15 mins away from US Embassy.

I left the hotel at 7am and reached the Embassy around 7:15. There are few people already and immigrant and non immigrant visa have separate lines. The guard will check your appointment letter and passport and will assist you.

They started to let us in (immigrant visa line first) at around 7:50, gone through security check and they asked us to leave all bags. It's convenient if you have an envelope with all your docs in it and pockets for money and other stuff.

I was given no. 6 and was called at the window around 7:15 for document collection. Just an advice, there will always be grumpy people in the morning so just remain calm and be nice ... read complete review

I had my interview last Sept. 9, 2013. A day before that, my sis and I went to Abu Dhabi and stayed in a hotel near to the embassy. It's practical and convenient I may say.

My appointment was 8am, but we left from the hotel at 6am. We arrived before 6:30am. Second in line! An Iranian couple came first.

Around 7:10am, a security guard came to check our appointment letter and passport. At 7:45am they started to let us in. My sister can't get inside. Only those who have an appointment can get in or American citizens.

I have waited for my number to be flashed on the screen (002) for the first step. A nice lady took all the documents needed. I gave her the following:

* Appointment Letter (returned to me after seeing it)
* Original Passport + copy
* 2 (2x2) photos
* Signed letter of intent (sponsor and beneficiary)
* DS-230 part 1 and part 2 (I signed both and she returned the part 2)
* DS-156 ... read complete review

My Husbands interview for his CR1 visa was scheduled on September 4th 2013, in the Abu Dhabi consulate. He arrived there about 20 minutes before his time and saw a long line. Once he was inside there were 16 interviews scheduled at the time he was there. Once inside they collected his documents (interview letter and all that)had fingerprints done, and sat down to wait. He was called up for the initial questioning, and he was asked who is applying for him and something else but I don't remember what. Then he was asked to be seated again. Two hours into the process, he got called up for his actual interview. He was asked to take an oath and he did. The CO was a Caucasian American man. My husband had taken loads and loads of proof.(Facebook chats, skype logs, pictures, yahoo chats, phone records, reference letters, gifts, western union receipts and more) Since we had met online and only spent a week together in person, we were almost sure that he wouldn't get the visa. But my husband rema... read complete review

I as the sponsor attended the interviews with my fiancée. We stayed overnight at a nearby Holiday Inn, so we could be ready first thing in the morning. The interview date/time was August 12th at 8:00AM. We arrived around 7:30AM. They start letting people in at 7:45AM, but only 2-3 at a time to go through the security checkpoint. We actually entered the security facility at about 8:10AM. Be prepared for standing outside and sweating even first thing in the morning (especially for you US petitioners not used to the heat). Once you are cleared through security, you go out a backdoor and down a short pathway to the actual embassy-consulate facility. The applicant is given a call# and you take a seat in a waiting area. My fiancée got #19. So it took about an hour before she received her first calling. The facility is a large room with several bank teller bullet proof glass type windows with a narrow slot to slide papers under. At the first calling she was asked for her forms, ... read complete review
