This is a review of the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The original interview for my wife and stepson was scheduled for January 12, 2013, but was pushed back one day due to the Embassy being closed for a UAE national holiday.

The interview was rescheduled for 8am on January 13th, 2013. We arrived at 7:30am and there were 10 people ahead of us. We were let into the Embassy a little bit early, around 7:45am. The Embassy security staff was very friendly and helpful. As expected, you cannot take your cell phone into the Embassy. You must turn it off and leave it at the main security check point. It will be secured by the security staff and you will receive a ticket to retrieve it when you leave. You also cannot take your purse, car keys, or anything other than your interview specific documents and your wallet.

There are limited snacks and refreshment available inside the waiting area, but the snack stand was not open unt... read complete review

My interview was at Abu Dhabi. The appointment letter said 8am so I got there at 7:20am but there were 11 people already in line before me. We were asked to show the guards our passport & appointment letter and wait outside the gate. At 8am we were called two at a time for security check at the gate and we were asked to leave our bags there and proceed to the inner building. Here we were given a token (so the earlier you get there, the better) and asked to wait. When my number came up at one of the counters, I went up there and was asked for my passport, appointment letter & the small packet from the medical exam. Then she asked me for all the forms (DS 230, 156, 156K, 157 & Affidavit of support with tax slip) and then for photocopies of birth certificate + translation, PCCs & passport. She asked me whether I had paid online, I told her I did and handed over the printed receipt. Then she asked me to go to the next counter for fingerprints, there was a queue there so I was asked to wait... read complete review

My token number was 05.
Interview Questions:
At Counter No. 10

2) Who is Co-Sponser?
3) Did you make the payment?

Make the payment at counter no. 1 and go to counter no. 11 for the finger prints.
Once finger prints was done I was told to wait for the interview.

My number was then called at counter no. 3.
1) Raise your right hand and say I swear that whatever is written in these documents is true and complete.
2) Then I was asked to write my fiancee’s name and sign below.
3) The consular said that my name is very unusual name for Pakistani national.
4) How did you meet your fiancée
5) How are they (my uncle and fiance's father) related to?
6) What does your fiancée do?
7) She was born in UAE is she originally from Pakistan?
8) What do you do?
