Hi everybody!
I passed the interview for a K1 today. Everything went smooth. The CO only asked me about my previous stay in the US (I was an au pair there for 18 months) and gave me the infamous pink slip.
The only thing that was not perfect is me being silly enough to have left my cell-phone in the locker in the security booth and not taking the number of the locker thingy. So when I went back to pick it up, I described what i had left there, and even told the guy the pin-code to my cell, so he could turn it on and see )) After that I was done and was calling everybody I knew to share the good news!
Good luck to everybody!

My lady, her son & I arrived early for a 9:30 appointment, but ended up outside in a cold rainy line, unable to find the magical place where US citizens received preferential treatment. After entry into the building we went to the designated room where a lady finally called for our documents through a glass window where we slid the documents through as requested. All our careful organization was for naught as the lady called for documents in no particular order relative to the KEV-1 checklist. Since I am semi-retired and had business losses on my last tax return I was using assets to meet my requirements. I had 3" of paperwork on this point, but a single account statement was all this lady ended up wanting. We waited again for an hour or so before being called to the rear of the room where a man was stationed behind another glass partition. He had no questions, but did ask me to affirm that my I-134 was true and correct before telling us our visa would be sent and that we should ... read complete review

1 HOUR. .START TO FINISH!! We rented an apartment in walking distance of the Embassy. We went to procredit bank at 8:30, NO LINE!! We walked right in, and right back out! Our embassy appointment was at 9:30 and we got there (early) at 9:00.Right away, they lead us to a "special place" to store my purse. There was a long line BUT, they looked at my passport and ushered us right to the front of the line, (much to the dismay of the others waiting in line because it was 25 degrees outside). We sat down at 9:20. At 10:00 they called his name! I went with him to the interview. The interviewer was American! He asked Vladimir if he wanted to speak in english or russian. Scared to death, of course Vlad said russian. He just pointed out that one of our documents had not been translated to english and told us to go the the translation service next door and, drop it off at the guard house. Then,he just gave us the pink paper. I asked. . .is that all?? Are we approved? He laughed and said, yes and go... read complete review

Just a quick note here, we used a lawyer to orginally file for K-3/K-4 visas, however the lawyer filed the I-130/I-129F on the same day resulting on us taking a CR-1/CR-2 path.
We only had about two weeks notice for the interview date and I returned to Ukraine to go to Kiev with Viktoria and the kids for the interview. The day before we did the medical exam in Kiev which was a long day. Arrived there at 8:30 and was there until almost noon and then back again to receive results at 2:30, which we probably didn't leave until almost 4.
The interview: letter said an 8:00am appointment on the 8th, we were put in a separate line for the CR-1/2 visas and wound up with about 5 interviews in front of us. It actually just seemed it was a waiting game after we signed in at the first window. I felt very bad for Viktoria as you could tell she was just so nervous, the kids were not liking the wait either. After about an hour and a half we were called to the interview window. We s... read complete review

The interview was a breeze. Consulate staff was pretty nice and helpful. The only problem there were security people at the Consulate: rude, nasty, and complete idiots altogether.
