I was scheduled for the interview on the 5th of February 2010 at 8:00. My husband and I arrived at 8:01 and went straight to the door, there was a huge line we just went to the front of the line and when it showed the green light we just went through, we heard the people behind us saying like "what do they think they are doing, who do they think they are?" but we didn't pay much attention to that because we knew that my husband is a U.S citizen and I'm his wife so we had the right to do that. We proceeded through the door to the guards. From reading previous interview experiences we knew that we should only take wallet, telephone and documents, they took the phone and gave the rest back. We went through metal directer and there was a door leading outside, to the right there was the FedEx thing that you would need for later. So we went straight to the next door that lead to the building from there people told us where to go next. We came to the room there was no one there. We saw a bell... read complete review

Our scheduled appointment was for 9 A.M. We arrived around 8:15.
I (I am a USC) went up to a guard and asked what the SOP for getting in there on time is. He told me to go fetch my fiancée, go check in our bags at the place 2 doors down from the consulate entrance, and then he told me to just come by and stand right by the entrance and at 8:55 we will be able to go in.
That is exactly what happened. At 8:55 both of us were escorted to the security check bypassing the line in front of us.
After the security check we navigated to the immigrant visa section of the consulate. There were some people there who've been there since 8 A.M., apparently. We gave our documents to the guy in the window (he spoke Ukrainian to us). He took all of our documents and told us to sit down.
- Side note here, he only took my 2009 W-2, didn't want any other years, didn't want any paystubs or anything else.
In about half an hour Daria was called up for finge... read complete review

Our K-1 petition and all the paper work was sent back to the USCIS, because of a lost page that had my signature on it. Hard to beleive that our package would have made it all the way to Kiev with out this page, but I guess it could happen.

Sveta was a little late to her interview in Kiev after her 5 hour travel time, but the consular was friendly and allowed her to meet her appointment time. While waiting to be called for the interview, they recorded her fingerprints. All went well, she was escorted to the interview where she answered several questions. After 10 minutes the consular approved her visa and wished her good luck. The next step was to send her passport in for processing, Sveta paid the courier service fee and was on her way. Her passport will be delivered via courier service within 10 days.

Arrived at Consulate around 7:15am. Appointment was at 8am. Entered promptly with no problems. Took documents to window and they asked for W2's & recent tax return (we did not submit them to NVC because they were not finished yet). Lady at window took all documents. Tory waited 2 hours and during that time was fingerprinted (for free). She was called for interview about 11am and only asked one question: "Is all the information you have presented here true and correct to the best of your knowledge?" Tory said "yes" and the consular officer said congratulations you have your VISA approval! Smooth and no problems at all! Good experience...much better than expected.
