I was scheduled for the interview on the 5th of February 2010 at 8:00. My husband and I arrived at 8:01 and went straight to the door, there was a huge line we just went to the front of the line and when it showed the green light we just went through, we heard the people behind us saying like "what do they think they are doing, who do they think they are?" but we didn't pay much attention to that because we knew that my husband is a U.S citizen and I'm his wife so we had the right to do that. We proceeded through the door to the guards. From reading previous interview experiences we knew that we should only take wallet, telephone and documents, they took the phone and gave the rest back. We went through metal directer and there was a door leading outside, to the right there was the FedEx thing that you would need for later. So we went straight to the next door that lead to the building from there people told us where to go next. We came to the room there was no one there. We saw a bell next to the plastic window and rang it. A guy came out I don't know who he was but I call him the secretary anyways he asked for our documents for pictures for other evidence and asked a couple of questions for example: how old was I when I got married (said 20), did we have any children (said no), if any of us were in previews marriages (said no). He asked more but I don't remember what exactly, the questions were simple. He told me that my Police Certificate was not right, that I had to get it in my maiden name too not just my husbands last name (Police certificate should include all names that you have ever used). Also he told my husband that he didn't have enough taxes to support me (we were like 600 dollars short), so he told us to get a joint sponsor. We told him that we will get all the needed documents, so he said please have a seat and wait to be called for finger printing and then a meeting with the counselor. I was called for finger printing in about 10 minutes, the took all of my fingers and told me to sit and wait. Waited for about 2 hours, before us there was some old lady with her family and she got approved because I saw them being happy and she held a pink slip in her hands. Next they called my name, I got up and told my husband to go with me and we were not sure if he could go but i just told him to come with me, so he did (just to let you know there are no rules who can come to the window with you). We came to the window there was a lady about 45 years old she was really nice, explained again to my husband in English what documents we were missing and gave us an orange sheet that stated about additional documents. Thanked my husband for coming and told him to sit and that she will spend a couple of minutes with me. She asked me if I spoke English and I said "a little bit" she said "ok Russian is better then" and I said "uhu". She gave me a form to sing and told me to put my index finger of right hand on a finger scanner. Then asked me to raise my hand and to swear that all the documents are true and I said "YES" looking straight in her eyes. Then she passed me a pink slip, and I didn't get what just happened and asked her "um can I ask a question" she said "yes of course" so I asked "what should I tell my husband do I have the visa or no" so she said "you will when we will receive all the additional documents". Then I thanked her and went to tell my husband the good news. We were really happy and excised then we went back to the FedEx thing and they took the pink slip and gave us a receipt. In 3 days we had all additional documents ready, so I went to Kiev again and did everything as I was instructed gave the documents to the guard that was going inside the guards booth. On the sheep it said to wait 10 business days before receiving the passport. We waited 10 business days and nothing came so we wrote them an e-mail asking what is going on they replied that the joint sponsor needed a signature from her husband. So we quickly dropped the idea of joint sponsor and my husband was about to do his taxes anyways so he did his taxes for 2009 and we mailed them in. Then we tried calling to make sure that they got everything (my husband called from US and I called from Ukraine)two different guys picked up the phone and told us that all we can do is wait ''. Then on 11th March a woman called my house phone my uncle picked up the phone (I lived with my aunt and uncle)she asked for me. On the phone she introduces herself and the first thing she asked was who was on the phone before she spoke to me and I told her that it was my uncle (I just thought it was weird)anyways I explained to her everything and quickly she pulled up the e-mail with taxes that we sent. She said that it was good and that she will print it out and will give it to the counsel to sign. Also she said that the visa will not come this week but the next. That is what happened she called on Thursday and on Tuesday 16th of March I got the passport and other documents that were sealed and asked not to be opened.'' I know its a lot ''
