CR-1 Interview
6/20 Elya did medical. 9 a.m. Appointment took 3-1/2 hours. Returned after 3 pm and waited an hour to get medical report papers.
6/21 Elya had 8 a.m. appointment for Interview. There is a business 5 meters from Consulate that has storage units for 30 UAH. The security guard pointed the place out since you are not allowed to take any bags, phones etc. into consulate. If you are by yourself (which my wife was) this is great. Went to short line due to invitation and instruction of security guard. They open the door one at a time to process you through security. (Approx. 2 minutes each). Elya went to room with 8 other people she was only one with CR visa others appeared to be adoption and family member visas. At about 8:15 Elya name was called and invited to window. Pleasant Ukrainian woman ask for documents, all originals (policy, marriage certificate, birth certificate, medical) relative to Elya. Then she did the fingerprint. According to my wife all was... read complete review

Here are Lena's exact words of her Kiev, US Embassy interview review:
"It is necessary to be at 6 Pimenenko Street near the exact time of your scheduled interview and you will see that there will be many many people in lines. An Embassy worker stays in the street and will give you direction and tell you which line to wait. Show this man your invitation letter which was enclosed with Packet 4. The man told me, "Ok, you can go in without waiting." Lena came to Kiev with a friend and she was able to leave her mobile phone, purse and other personal items with her friend who would wait for her in the street. Otherwise, you will need extra money to pay for storage."
"When I came inside, I was sent to a waiting room for other K-1 people. There were 6 of us in this room waiting for visas. The first window is in this room. I sat close to the window and when no one was standing there, I approached this window. The man spoke to me in Ukrainian. He request... read complete review

Well Lily had her interview and was prepared with all the documentation requested ahead of time. She said that the interview was very easy with very few questions asked about me my occupation etc. She had been very nervous but she acted as though it was a day at the park for her. She was extremely pleased with how things went except for the fact she was told her children must travel with her to the US on her initial arrival. This we had not counted on.
