Review Topic: General Review

Our CR-1 and CR-2 interviews were scheduled for Thursday, August 4th. I traveled to Ukraine to join my wife and my stepson for the interview process. We left our bag at the privately operated storage place in the appartment building right next to the embassy. We arrived on time at 8am and went right in after displaying our letters of invitation and my passport to the man outside. Inside the security guard asked us to put everything we have on the table, including money, passports and documents. We went through the metal detector and then the security guard searched us with a handheld scanner. We went inside to the back room visa processing unit. We were the first ones in, then a few other people entered the room and sat down. We were called shortly and a ukrainian speaking embassy worker went over our documentation. Everything was fine, except for the wife's police certificate - not all of her prior names were listed. At this point we thought that we are in for a nightmare, since this ... read complete review

Rob and I enjoyed our Kiev Embassy experience very much. Everything was smooth and fast. Everybody was polite and professional. The officer asked a couple of questions while processing our paperwork. I would say there was a little bit of talking down to non-immigrant visa applicants but only from the Ukrainian employees of the Embassy.

The questions we were asked:
- How did you meet each other?
- When was your last visit to the US and for how long have you stayed there?

This was my second visa interview at the US Embassy in Kiev (I have B1/B2) and both my interviews were nothing but fast and easy

Everything went smooth and fast, the interview last just 2min, in general at the embassy I was 1hr. 15min.
The presentation of my Fiance, wasn't necessary and even if he would be there, it won't change anything absolutely! I would say it was more like a formality!
Questions that officer asked me:
-What's the name of your Fiance?
-How did you meet?
-Was he married before?
-Was I married before?
-Do we have kids from our previous marriages?
-Where his son lives?
-Where does your Fiance work?
And then:
- Your visa approved, go and pay your delivery!
Good luck to every one! Nothing to worry about!!!

Hurrah!!!! Finally we've got our visa approved After waiting almost a year all 3 of us (me, my fiance and our 3 months old son) can go home to America. Everything was easy at the embassy. My appointment was scheduled for 09:00 a.m. but we came 15-20 mins later because the traffic in Kyiv was difficult this morning. We came to one of the consulate employees who was standing outside and showed him my letter with the appointment time on it. He said that was not a problem we came later. Then we went to the embassy building and other employees told us where to go. We came into the room where were other people who came for k-1 visa interview. I went to one of the windows and said that I have an interview today at 09:00 o'clock. The man asked me my passport, forms, proof of our relationships and gave me some few questions such as, have I ever been into USA, have I ever lived abroad for more then 6 months, do I have children, am I currently married, have I ever been married... read complete review

everyone was kind and friendly. Just be sure, that you have all your papers correct, it's the only one that they need, and of course be honest and show that you really need this visa and you really love your fiance. and girls, just wanted to ask, when you are going to the interview wear NICE clothes, it was very unpleasant to see what look had other people there, it was disgusting.
