Lena had her interview on Tuesday, 5/15/12, at the US Embassy in Kiev. She was allowed to enter the building at 7:45 AM for her 8:30 AM interview time. She was given a number, and then presented all paperwork including financial and relationship evidence at one time. Lena then got her fingerprints taken, and paid for the visa. She had to wait another 1.5 hours for her number to be called for the interview, as there was only 1 officer processing K1 visas on that day. When she got to the window, the officer had reviewed her information previously and asked her only a few very simple questions. The total interview time was only about 2 minutes! Then the officer congratulated Lena, and gave her the pink approval slip!
As many others have said before, if you have your paperwork in order, everything goes smooth in Kiev! Total time at the embassy was 2.5 hours. In general the officers were very pleasant and professional!

We had 8.45am appt. We arrived at 8.30, we went in straight away, waited about 10 mins until our number came up and we submitted all documents, Vika and her daughter Yana had fingerprints taken, I went to next window and paid $480 total for both of them. We waited about 1 more hour and were called to interview. We were asked these questions
1. How many times have I been to Ukraine? (this was only question for me)
2. Did I have any brothers or sisters?
3. Where did I live?
4. What was name of largest city near me?
5. What are my hobbies?
6. Do I have any pets?
7. What type of dog do I have? (this was only question asked of Vika's daughter)
I was very happy with the service, very professional, the lady who took my documents asked for proof of relationship, she saw I had a folder of documents for proof and she just said to hand over the whole folder if that would be easier than taking bits out. After interview I was handed ba... read complete review

Correction: Our interview was actually on Wednesday, March 28, not March 25, as I had previously documented in my review. Anyway, it was a great experience!

We arrived at 0800 for our 0830 interview on 3/25/2012 and were able to go to the front of the line. Its good because it had been snowing and it was very cold. At about 0825 we entered the security checkpoint and all went well there. We then walked across to the part of the embassy where the documents are taken and the interview takes place. The new embassy is very nice and comfortable and our number was called very quickly to come to the window to present our documents. The lady at that window was very professional, smiled at us, and asked for each of the documents needed. She explained every step to me in English and then would ask my fiance' for the documents in Russian. We had all our documents in order and organized which was very helpful. She looked at all of them and then asked me to go to window 6 to pay for the visa. I did and then returned to the initial window and we finished there. At about 1115, our number was called to another window for the interview, where the consular ... read complete review
