Ok here is how it went...my husband got there 15 min early. They start letting people in 10 min before the scheduled time, go through security, then give you a number and ask you to wait for your number to be called. Once the number is called you got the window and hand over the documents they ask for. In his case they asked for his passport and the registration letter for receiving the visa, and for proof of relationship. He gave them skype logs, pictures, wedding invitations. Then they told him to sit and wait for his name to be called to speak with the consulate. When he came up to the consulate they asked him how we met, when I flew to usa ( i was with my husband in ukraine for a while), if i work and where, and thats all the questions. My husband said that while he waited to speak with the consulate he heard what was asked of the people in front of him and basically it was all easy questions for them too like how and when met, where will live in usa, wife's hobby, does wife live i... read complete review

I have heard how simple the interviews are in Kiev and our experience with them shows this. We had a ton of information for proof of relationship. They barley glanced at it according to Vika. They asked her a bit about me, my children, and my job and how we met. It was very informal and Vika said the girl doing the interview couldn't have been more than 21 or 22 years old. She said congratulations your visa is open. Which I found a strange word to use when most other said approved but in the end it was all fine. She was at the embassy no more than 2 hours as I waited up late for that text message once she got her phone back.
One thing to note. On Friday, the day after the interview, our case status went form "Ready" to "Administrative processing" Of course we got nervous after hearing the horrible stories. But after a long weekend it changed from "AP" to "Issued". It appears when they are working on printing your visa and the necessary forms that it temporarily... read complete review

This was a piece of cake. You may want to take a taxi there as it is slightly out of the way. Guards were friendly. People were friendly. Interview was friendly. Asked how we met, where I lived, what I did for work. Goodbye and good luck, visa is in the mail. Took an hour waiting and 5 minutes for interview. We did minimum of everything. 5 pictures, skype records and visas was all. Girl before us had a folder 5 inches thick and she passed also.

My fiance said the interview was fine. Lots of security to get through so come early. The American consulate worker who did the interview was friendly and very relieved when she realized my fiance spoke English. From her account of the interview it seems the embassy had already made up their mind and just wanted to verify a few things. Overall seems like the Kiev embassy operates rather well.

So my girl had her interview. She showed up about 30 minutes early. She was the first one so she did not have to wait long at all. We scheduled it for 8:30am. She wore normal clothes, very little make up. They called her up to the window and asked her what language she prefers either English, Russian, or Ukrainian. She said English was fine. They asked her several questions such as: How many brothers I had, Where your fiance lives now, What's your fiance mother's name, Have you met his mother, What day did you meet his mother on Skype, How do we communicate, What is his job, How long has he been doing this job, and Who taught you English? She examined all the pictures and read a few pages of our What's App chat log (we brought 211 pages) She said your fiance has an interesting job and your English is very good. All your paperwork looks correct, you are approved! My girl said they were very nice and friendly. We were supposed to have this "code" I guess from the packet the consulate sen... read complete review
