Ukraine | Review on September 23, 2013: | Brent and Vika
Rating: | Review Topic: General Review
I have heard how simple the interviews are in Kiev and our experience with them shows this. We had a ton of information for proof of relationship. They barley glanced at it according to Vika. They asked her a bit about me, my children, and my job and how we met. It was very informal and Vika said the girl doing the interview couldn't have been more than 21 or 22 years old. She said congratulations your visa is open. Which I found a strange word to use when most other said approved but in the end it was all fine. She was at the embassy no more than 2 hours as I waited up late for that text message once she got her phone back.
One thing to note. On Friday, the day after the interview, our case status went form "Ready" to "Administrative processing" Of course we got nervous after hearing the horrible stories. But after a long weekend it changed from "AP" to "Issued". It appears when they are working on printing your visa and the necessary forms that it temporarily will say "AP". So unless you were given a 221(g) and they say they need more information don't freak out like we did. Give it a couple days to go to those wonderful words of "issued". Overall the embassy was a great experience for her.
