Ombeni's appointment was for 10 am yesterday. He got there on time and was told that they hadn't received some of the papers he had mailed to them. So he was given the forms and a half hour to complete them. He took a taxi to some place that was known for helping people fill out visa forms, paid a bunch for the help (and the taxi rides), and returned to the embassy presumably much later than a half hour. They scheduled him for the last time slot of the day.
His interview lasted around 45 minutes. Ombeni wasn't too specific on the questions that they asked, but they did ask about how we met, how many times I had visited him, and what I did for a living in America. They looked at the pictures he brought and the financial information, but not at our (very impressive) phone bills, emails, or letters and envelopes.
