Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

There are two lines outside the embassy. Only me and a small family in my line. Whem told by a guard to come up to the entrance I simply showed my passport, took my jacket off, swirled around and showed the backside of my shoes. After that I was allowed inside in the security room that works like the security at an airport. I just had what I needed in a plastic bag, didn't even bring my cell phone as I didn't want to leave it with the guards. Followed the line up to the house and came to a waiting room with lots of tills in one end of the room. When one guard understood I was there for an immigrant visa he told me to just walk up to one of the tills to 'report' myself. Talked to a Swedish guy who just asked for my proves of a an ongoing relationship. Had everything I wanted to show them printed out. Then he asked if I had a police certificate with me and I said no, it didn't say anything about that in the instructions. He showed the one he had from NVC and it was dated Sep 18 last year... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

When i got to the embassy (got there at 8am and was schedualed for 8.30am)i stood in line for approx 5minutes and then i was asked to show my passport in a window, when entering you will need to go through an "Airport scan", you will not be allowed to bring phone or other Electronics with you in to the interview building.

Walking up to the building and when entering one man in uniform asked me if i was there for the K1 visa and he told me to walk over to Window G.
At the window one lady took my passport and told me to sit and wait a Little.
Then my name was called up again and a Swedish man asked for all the documents. I had it all very well organized in a folder and could hand Everything over easy, at last he asked for some evidence of relationship and i handed over a plastic bag with my fiances last trip to visit me and also a plastic bag with photots from that trip. He then asked how we met and if i had read the phapmlet about domestic violence in the ... read complete review

My husband got there 45 minutes early and they took him as soon as he was able. The entire thing was quick and painless. He was actually out 20 minutes before he was scheduled to have the interview and was approved pending the results of the medical which hadn't arrived yet. He'd had it done about ten days prior. We were in AP for two days and then the results arrived. His visa arrived two days after his status changed to issued, so just 4 days after the interview!

I had my interview on May 7, 2015 at 8:30. I arrived there at 8 because I didn't know how bad the line would be. From past experience I know they are very strict about how many people can be inside the building at the same time because of fire safety. MAKE SURE YOU STAND IN THE LINE FOR IMMIGRANT PETITION AND NOT NON_IMMIGRANT. There will be two poles: one yellow and one red. Stand by the yellow one. If you're in something that looks like a bus stop, you're in the wrong line for the K1 visa.

I only waited maybe 5 minutes before I was called up to the security where I had to show them my passport, stand behind a yellow line, turn around and show them the bottom of my shoes. I was let in and was asked to put all my things in the bin. Remember that you will make their job much easier if you don't bring your cell phones. They're not permitted. They do have a tiny storage space there so I got a receipt for picking up my car keys and Fitbit at the end of my visit.

What a waste of time.

5 questions asked. Then a brochure reminding that domestic violence isn't allowed in US (not that is allowed in any Scandinavian country).

What took the longest was the fact that our terrible immigration lawyer had filled with Embassy in Copenhagen, instead of Stockholm and forgot provide a document.
