I 129 F petition approved and consulate didn't notify my finacee. I initiated a request and the consulate notified me that they have send the packet. After a reasonable time my finacee contacted the consulate since she didn't get the packet. The consulate ask her to come get the packet form the embassy and had already assigned an interview date. When my fiancee went to get the packet they have advanced the interview date for two more weeks. She was able to gather all the documents and went for the interview on 10/16/07. As of 11/07/07 she has not received her passport with the visa stamp on it. The consulate kept saying that the visa printer is not working. I suspect that the police report has not arrived in the embassy and most likely they just don't want to say anything.

Interview was at 1 pm but we werent let in until after 1.15pm. Because of this we missed 2 announcements asking to had in the interview letter at the counter .So we sat there for 2 hrs before someone noticed us and asked for the interview letter. This happened to several other people as well. The security folks at the gate are not the nicest people around.
Interview was nerve wracking because the Consular Officer(CO) thought our relationship was not genuine. However, my Fiancee brought a lot of photos of us together with her. Once the CO saw the photos she approved the visa immediately. Turns out that the USCIS do not send the photos to the Embassy and so the CO had no idea. So its important to take all the photos you sent to USCIS again to the Embassy.
However, we still had to wait for the Sri Lankan police clearance which arrived in app. 5 weeks time. After that it was more nerve wracking when the visa printer did not work and they couldnt print visa. But eventually we ... read complete review

My spouse was called for the interview at 1:00 p.m. but did not get interviewed until 3:30 p.m. The lady who interviewed her was friendly and asked the following questions:
What does your spouse do for a living?
How did you meet?
What will you do when you go to the US - study or work?
What do you do for a living?
They did not look at any of the evidence that was presented. After that she was approved for the visa and told to come the next day for pick up of the Visa.
Important Notes about the Embassy:
1. Make sure to call and tell them to mail the Packet 3 once you know they have received the Packet. Otherwise they will just sit on it.
2. Make sure to get everything done on the Packet - medical, I-134, photos, other forms as soon as possible. Once everything is turned into the Embassy they will call you in approximately 4 weeks after the local Police Certificate comes in. The sooner you turn in the Pac... read complete review
