Our visa is approved!!
I had my interview yesterday (13th nov) at the embassy in Madrid. First of all, I want to thank everybody else for writing their reviews, they helped me being more calm and confident about the whole process. My interview was easy and quick! Like someone else has said, I think the interview it’s a formality, if you get there I’m sure you will get the visa!
Monday at 10.30 am I went to Unidad Médica Anlgoamericana for the medical exam. It’s a very fast exam, and all of the people there were very nice. The doctor asks you a few questions about your medical history, then he takes your weight and height, checks your blood pressure, etc. After that the nurse takes a small blood sample to test for syphilis. Then you pay (cash) and they give you a little map to go to a hospital for the x-rays. It’s a 20-30 minutes’ walk from there. I didn’t have to wait when I got there, they did my x-ray immediately even though there were ... read complete review

Fast and easy. My appointment was at 12:30. I had time to pick up the medical results and go to the embassy on time (20-25 minutes walking). No line on the embassy. I got the number and I was called right the way. I gave all the papers to a Spanish woman and 30 seconds after I was told to wait, I was called again in another window. An american consul interviewed me. Well, he just asked me 2 questions: where did I meet my girlfriend and when... I signed the paper in front of him and after he was typing for 4-5 minutes I was out of there to have a great Menú del Día. I was just 15-20 minutes in the embassy. Easy and great atention of the personnel inside the Embassy. The only problem with the embassy is that they send the files expired inside the package. So you wait for the envelope but then you have to download the new files. Also, because they send this envelope via ordinary mail it can get lost. It happened to me and that meant a week delay. Other than that everything was great.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

We just got our K1 Visa approved yesterday. The overall experience during my 2-days visit to Madrid was really good.

The first day I had a thorough medical checkup at Clinica Angloamericana [I had called both clinics after we got our NOA2 and I was decided to go for this one since, not only they were really kind and understanding when replying all my inquiries, but the other clinic's secretary was incredibly rude to me in the phone]. Before arriving I stopped at the bank and paid the Visa fees, just in case I wouldn't have enough time the day of the interview. [NOTE: It is a fixed amount agreed between the US Embassy and the bank, and thus it doesn't necessarily follow the exact USD/EURO rates, as the currency fluctuation is very rapid]

1. MEDICAL CHEKUP
The medical exam consisted of a series of questions about my lifestyle and medical history, the doctor then checked my weight and height, and the nurse took a sample of my blood to check for syphil... read complete review
