The interviewer was an Asian-American officer and he asked me a couple of basic questions such as my partner's date of birth, occupations and how we met. The interview lasted like 10 minutes and no picky questions. He spoke English to me during the interview and I answered back in English as well. He was very gentle and nice.

The US embassy in Seoul is very efficient. As a petitioner, you are allowed to go inside the embassy on your beneficiary's appointment date. All the staff were very kind and helpful. The officer that interviewed my fiance was very kind and personable. Overall if you read the instructions sent by the embassy carefully and have all of your documents in order it should be a very smooth interview. our whole appointment took about an hour.

K-1 Interview at Seoul Consulate

We were actually running late for our interview (I was in Korea with my fiance so we both attended the interview). There was a line to get in and we arrived with about 2 minutes before we were supposed to be interviewed. A 7:30am interview.
My fiance actually bypassed the line and asked the booth about the fact we had an interview and we and others following his suit, got to go in right then. Turns out they didn't even start the interviews until later and so a bunch of us went inside, no electronic devices allowed and went into a room with lots of chairs and the security guard explained how the process will go. I forget if it was explained in English or Korean but they handed us papers explainIng all the documents and what order they wanted them in (Also to take out all paperclips and like filing stickers...which I was proud that our packet was so organized and sad that I had to remove all of them...). We actually waited for quite... read complete review

My fiancée had her interview scheduled for 0730. She arrived 30 minutes prior to her arrival time. Upon entry into the Embassy, she submitted the paperwork, gave her biometrics (fingerprints), and waited a short amount of time thereafter to be called back for her interview. The interview took about 10 minutes and the officer asked her the following types of questions: "What does your fiancé do for a living, where is he living, how many times have the two of you met, where did we meet for the very first time, did you meet his boss?" Very simple and basic questions. My fiancée was so nervous in the days and weeks leading up to the interview because she is still learning English. The interviewer that she had was an American male who spoke both English and Korean. The officer gave her the opportunity to speak in both languages and was also very kind to her during the interview. At the end, our case was approved, and she was told that she would be receiving her passport and K1 Visa... read complete review
