K-1 Interview at Seoul Consulate
We were actually running late for our interview (I was in Korea with my fiance so we both attended the interview). There was a line to get in and we arrived with about 2 minutes before we were supposed to be interviewed. A 7:30am interview.
My fiance actually bypassed the line and asked the booth about the fact we had an interview and we and others following his suit, got to go in right then. Turns out they didn't even start the interviews until later and so a bunch of us went inside, no electronic devices allowed and went into a room with lots of chairs and the security guard explained how the process will go. I forget if it was explained in English or Korean but they handed us papers explainIng all the documents and what order they wanted them in (Also to take out all paperclips and like filing stickers...which I was proud that our packet was so organized and sad that I had to remove all of them...). We actually waited for quite a bit before my fiance's name was called, it was going up to a window where the person was on the otherside behind glass. FIrst he went up with all his paperwork and was sent back to wait to be called up again to get his fingerprints. The last thing was the interview. He was called up and they asked him basic questions like how did we meet. And they asked him about my income and my fiance mentioned I was there with him and so they had him call me up to the interview window. They spoke entirely in English. They asked me about my income and then asked my fiance about what he was planning on doing when he got to america, like if he was going to work. It was really sudden but the interview stacked all the papers up and very nonchallent said we were approved and we would recieve our visa within a week.!!!! The security guard asked us if we were approved and did a little dance when we said yes. The whole process was quite smooth and it was only nerveracking because it was, of course, the interview!
