Fairly easy interview. I spoke to a very young consular representative who seemed to be about my age or even younger. I was asked to brief how my fiance and I met. Took less than 5min. Very friendly.

As for me, the petitioner in the US, I had a little trouble understanding the officers speaking English. But it was still a pleasant experience. They were very helpful and considerate. I also speak fluent Korean so it wasn't too big of an issue. Also, regarding any escalations of our cases, they were extremely helpful and quick!

My fiancee had her interview on 10/19/2012. She says that the interview was really nice, conversational, and easy considering she does not speak fluent English. The officer complimented her and us in our pictures which was nice to hear. Overall a very good and easy experience.

We arrived at the American Embassy early at 7:30 am to be one of the first ones in line. When we reached the lobby, we got our number. When our number was called, we presented all our documents. The Immigration Officer immediately checked our income. Surprisingly, she didn't want any pay-stubs, a letter of employment, or any bank statements. Even though my American Spouse made all of his income in Korea for the past year, his income in the prior years met the poverty line guidelines and we didn't need a co-sponsor. Whatever was on the checklist that the embassy sent is what you need to submit. After submitting the documents, we waited for a little over 2 hours for the interview. We knew at this point if we saw a blue form, we were missing documents. Otherwise, we will be issued a visa. After the long wait, they called my name. The Immigration Officer asked a couple questions about how we met and what our plans are in the future. He explained when we have to be in America by... read complete review

Everything went smoothly. It took in total 1 hour 45 mn from getting the ticket, checking my documents, fingerprints and interview. The interview itself took 6 mn. Just basic questions about my wife.
Very important: For SOuth Korea immigrants, provide the appropriate Police Clearance (the one that includes your expunged records as well), the NVC will not notice that that part is missing. While the lady was checking my documents she required the proper police clearance. VJ saved my life since I read a topic concerning that issue just some days ago and I re-issued my police clearance with the proper information.
I'm so happy !!! Good luck to you all !!

I had my interview last Friday. I was there early, and picked a number. I was number 6. After I was called to the window, I had to submit all the papers on my checklist. I had everything with me. Since, my wife is employed in Korea, I used my mother in law as a joint sponsor. She send me the I-864 and her tax return, and proof of US citizenship.
They called me a while later, because I forgot to submit proof of my wife's domicile in the US. It was in my bag. It was our bank account in the US, her drivers licence, and letters that was mailed to our US address.
After I paid my $230 fee, I waited for my interview. Two or three people before me were refused, for not having all their documents, on the checklist, so I was very nervous.
Once I was called for the interview, the consular officer started asking me some questions like where we met, and where in the US my wife was from. He also asked where we were in the US last summer.
