We arrived at the American Embassy early at 7:30 am to be one of the first ones in line. When we reached the lobby, we got our number. When our number was called, we presented all our documents. The Immigration Officer immediately checked our income. Surprisingly, she didn't want any pay-stubs, a letter of employment, or any bank statements. Even though my American Spouse made all of his income in Korea for the past year, his income in the prior years met the poverty line guidelines and we didn't need a co-sponsor. Whatever was on the checklist that the embassy sent is what you need to submit. After submitting the documents, we waited for a little over 2 hours for the interview. We knew at this point if we saw a blue form, we were missing documents. Otherwise, we will be issued a visa. After the long wait, they called my name. The Immigration Officer asked a couple questions about how we met and what our plans are in the future. He explained when we have to be in America by and congratulated us. My visa petition was approved!
