It was a long day for Janna. Arrived at the Embassy for the 8AM scheduled time (along with everyone else). Janna ended up being the last interview of the day – a good 4+ hours of waiting and listening to the other interviews. Can't complain about the waiting time, as the IOs were very thorough. Interview went very well, except that I forgot to include my W2 form in the financial support package. She received a 221g and was told to submit the missing document between 2-4PM in the '221g Box' at the Embassy. I emailed it to her, and the document was submitted on the same day of the interview (Nov/2). I promptly sent an email to the Embassy explaining the situation with hopes of getting an update. On Nov/12, I received a reply happily stating that Janna's visa had been issued on Nov/10. Pretty quick turnaround considering there were 3 observed holidays (& a weekend) in that timeframe. The process was as expected: very professional.

Natasha arrived there at 7:20AM to find about 10 people in line ahead of her. The consulate personnel (Russian) took her paperwork and medical packet along with the fee and told her to wait in the waiting area.
The area was a common area and there were two consulate employees working there. A male and a female. Natasha was interviewed by the male. He asked the general questions that were expected about how the relationship began, how you have been communicating, etc. Wanted to see some pictures and E-mails. We were short on E-mails because we used the phone and skype so she presented him with phone records of our regular conversations.
Overall she states the interview was very pleasant as was the consular employee. She conducted the interview in English as she is very fluent and said that made it easier. That and a good knowledge of me and my family lead to a fairly quick approval.
Overall she says the experience was good and that the people there were polite. It ... read complete review

Marina arrived at 7:30 AM in the pouring rain. Huge crowd of people were waiting. Her appointment was at 8 o'clock, so she was 3rd in line to be let in. She gave her papers to the lady in the front, who went through it. She noticed my income (which was below poverty) and asked for the sponsor's paperwork, which was given. She was allowed through at that point.
She went and sat and waited over an hour before the consulates showed up. Only two of them this time. One of them was one that denied her for her J-1 Visa back in December... Which was unexpected, and she was rather nervous. Luckily she got the other consulate, who looked over her papers for 15 minutes before calling her up.
He called her over, and started off with "What's the plan?" She told him our plans of getting married. He then asked who introduced us, when and where. When she told him the name, he seemed surprised that this particular person referred us (it was an old boss of ours from Cold S... read complete review
