My interview was scheduled for June 1st at 8AM. I got there at about 7:30 and got in line, which almost immediately passed through the security checkpoint and was shown inside the embassy. Btw, the outside of the embassy was rather crowded with large groups of people (students, maybe?) standing all around the entrance and it wasn't clear to me where to go right away. The line for IVs was forming right in front of the security booth, along the metal railing. After going inside, there was a spot where people could leave their cellphones and other items not aloud at the embassy. I didn't have any 'cause I wasn't sure there was a place like that. After that, walk to the waiting hall to sit down. At this point it is best that everybody agrees on who came after who, 'cause the initial document check will be done according to that order. So, step 1- an assistant sees people one at a time, takes the invites, and checks their files, makes sure the docs are there. He asked me whether I brought m... read complete review

I have had my interview on June 3rd. Despite of waiting 2 hours before to be called, I hardly can recall any inconvinient moments. The interview was in english, even though my fiance speaks fluent russian - i think thats what they prefer. Check hundred times that you have all documents and make sure you dont miss anything. The woman who I was talking to didnt have the certificate of name change and was asked to bring it later, which obviously delays the process.
The actual interview started with the words : Hello, how are you. I couldnt hide my excitment and with the wide smile said that : I was very happy to be there, since we were waiting for so long. And so the ice was broken. Questions were simple and straight forward : When you ve met for the first time/When you started to be a couple/Whats his job/Has he met your parents and couple others related specifically to our case. All were answered with the great enthusiasm and confidence. Of course, cause its all questions that y... read complete review

My husband had his interview yesterday for a CR-1 visa through DCF. He arrived by 8, went in, gave his documents and was told to wait.
He waited for about 2 hours while others were interviewed.
He says the interviewer was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. He had some problems understading her because she spoke fast. She only asked a few questions- where did you meet, how long have you been in a relationship, where will you live in America, what's your profession, where does your wife work, where will she work in America- he here said that I've been applying for jobs, and took out the application emails I had printed out (we put together docementation to show our intent to reestablish domicile). She looked at all of these. She then asked a few more simple questions.
At the end she asked for the DHL slip. He forgot that he had it along with all the other documents to said he didn't have it. She said it was OK, and told him to come b... read complete review

The fiance had no issues. When she got called, she dropped off all her paper work. She was asked a few easy questions and the woman doing the interview seemed impressed with the photo of the fiance with most of my extended family at my cousin's wedding. After that, the interviewer told her that she was approved. Overall, she said it was very painless.

Olya had her interview 13 May. She had one VERY BIG problem. When she went to pay the $1050 dollars in US dollars I had left with her they refused to accept it. She was very afraid she could not interview but someone suggested she go to a nearby bank where they only gave her 26 rubles per dollar. She had to use almost all her remaining cash to make up the difference but then was able to interview. The interview itself went very well. She received the visas in 5 days in Kazan. So I would give the interview a 5 but the rest a 0.
