Embassy staff are very calm, friendly and professional. Our interview was on a Thursday toward the middle of the month so we did not have to wait long to get inside.
The interview is basically a three step process. After you enter you are told to go to a window to get a ticket with a number on it. When they call your number the first time you go to the window and submit any documents that were requested in the interview letter, then go sit back down again. After a while you are called up again to submit your fingerprints, and then told to wait for the final stage, which is the actual interview.
People are not called up in the order of the number on their ticket. It just seems kind of random, but maybe there is some logic to their methods. We actually had to wait more than three hours before being called up for the interview. The strange thing is, it wasn't much of an interview. We were just asked where we would be flying into, when we plan to arrive in th... read complete review

In a nutshell...After waiting 2h in the waiting area finally they called my number. The consul lady greeted me with a big smile and congratulated on upcoming marriage. I need to admit that I was a tad nervous. I came across some posts here on VJ about red flags and nontraditional marriages. My fiance is African-American and older by 15 years so I wasn't really sure how they will look at this. Any of these concerns has been brought up during the interview. The consul asked following questions:
- how we met and what happened after
- what did I do in the US in 2006 and where I lived
- was anyone of us married before
- how many kids he has from previous marriage
- what does he do for a living
- what did I do in Ireland (I lived there for 4 years)
- when am I planning on leaving
At the end she took my old passport with valid tourist visa and put a stamp '' visa revoked without prejudice'' then she congratulated on my visa approval and ... read complete review

Currently living in Poland, I was fortunate enough to accompany my fiancée for the interview in Warsaw. As best we could figure, our case was as open-shut as they came, and expected to breeze through the experience, long wait times aside.
The first sign of trouble came while handing in all the documents in order to receive a number. The lady at the window told my fiancée that the pictures she had brought were useless, terrible. Oddly enough, these exact same photos had been perfectly acceptable for every other agency up until this point, including being on her passport. But no, we had to cross the street to the sketchiest of all photo studios to get new photos taken at the not so measly cost of 30 PLN. New pictures in hand, we got our number and waited to be called for the interview.
We were interviewed by a lady who despite initially saying that I didn't actually need to provide any answers, ending up steering the conversation towards me and my 'domicil... read complete review

We got to the embassy at 8:10, although our interview time was 8:30. There were plenty of ppl waiting outside (they had their interview scheduled at 8 or 8:15). We got inside in 10 mins. Cleared the security, we were asked what type of visa we are getting. Emilia got a sticker with her TNT tracking number and we were asked to go get a number and wait in line. After getting a number Emilia was asked to hand in all documents ( ds160, birth certificate, affidavit, photos etc). Then we had to wait again. After 15 mins Emilia had to go get her finger prints scan in. This is the last step before the actual interview with the CO. We had to wait about 30mins. The consular section was full of people, mainly getting their tourist visas, for the immigrant section there were maybe 10-15 ppl. We were siting right in front of the windows were the interviews take place, so we were able to see that the CO took our documents and was looking at them. He smirked at one of our photos - good sign we though... read complete review

I arrived in Poland last month to accompany my fiancee to her interview at the US Embassy in Warsaw. Everything went well and we were eventually approved for K-1 visa. I want to Thank All the US Embassy personnel for their help in our request. The problem now is with my fiancee's 6 year old Daughter. We are having trouble with The Polish Court in getting her a passport and subsequent K-2 visa. I had to go to Polish court while I was there in November. The Judge seemed to be an "Old Believer" and not agreeable to divorced couples who want to start a new life together. The case has been delayed 4 times already. We can not wait 100 years for Polish Court Reform. The K-1 visa has a timeframe to be used, we have told the Court this, but they only want more "witnesses" We have done everything we can think of including hiring a Polish lawyer who seems overwhelmed herself. Any ideas from anyone is appreciated.
