Very tough Embassy to deal with....practically impossible to communicate with them. Compliance is subjective and frustrating. Placed on AR for stupid things.

Recently finished the medical exam in Manila at St. Luke hospital and everything was great. Aia didn't have a problem or delay. She also had time to help her fellow filipina's with their paperwork. . Will be back in Manila again on Feb 7, 2007 for her interview at the USE.

The Filipina pre interviewer turned out to be much stricter. Asked a lot more questions in detail.
The consul asked me the following:
who is your petitioner?
what is his age?
what is your age?
was he ever married?
...and that was that!

My two Step-Kids had their CR-2 interviews January 10th, successful!!
My wife had her CR-1 interview in december, I submitted a favorable review of that experience already.
Once again, I was very happy with the way the interviews were conducted, but like before, the paperwork handling was very screwed up. As the paperwork did get sorted out in a reasonably timely manner, I am not too irritated by it.
Arrived at 6:45 for the 7am interview. Walked straight in, no line outside. Instructed by the IV Unit guard to wait with about 100 other folks for the initial screening. At 7:30, submitted the forms, photos, passport etc..
At 8:15 called to Window Y (not a good thing!), asked for the boy's application, photos, and passport (Hmm, didn't i just do that?), also told that the medical was missing. But was told to pay my fee ($380 X 2) and sit down to wait for my number.
8:30, called again to Y, given a second number, much bigger than the one I had already. Hm... read complete review

Interview went off quite well. Nothing really new to report over and above all the other reports of experience there. Riza had another Filipina looking at her from behind the window. Though there was no trouble or open hostility, it appeared this woman wasn't very thrilled to be in her job... That is something I read over and over and fail to understand...What is it? Jealousy? Anyhow, there was a slight problem with documentation. Though we WERE inside the proscribed timeline for the 2003 tax wherein it was NOT required, this woman insisted she HAD to have it. Of course, I had barely gotten it FINISHED and sent off..... *sigh* Easier to comply than argue. Riza was told to return the next day with the proper documentation (a copy of my tax report - IN the U.S.) for the current year. I was an over the road trucker at the time. Feel my pain? Thank heavens I was HOME during all this. I faxed it late that night and she breezed on through, waving bye-bye to the nasty lady who was REMAINING b... read complete review
