On the day of the interview, I got to the embassy at 7:15am (my interview was scheduled for 8:45am), and there were already 80 people in line. The line moved pretty fast though. I had to show my interview letter and my passport, and the guy checking it wrote a number on my letter.
After 25 minutes in line, I entered the embassy. You have to leave stuff like your mobile, perfumes/lotions, ipod, usb, or camera with security. I kept walking and passed a second security check point to enter a room for immigrant visas.
I waited for my name (8:30am) to be called and the lady (Peruvian) that interviewed me was very kind. She asked me how we met, who introduced us, how long have we been dating, how many times had I gone to the US, how many times he had come to Peru, our marital status, and if we had any prior children.

Well today, August 16, 2010, was my fiance's appointment with the U.S Embassy in Lima, Peru. He informed me of the appointment last month and I made travel plans to be there with him. The appointment was at 8:45 a.m. The packet my fiance received in the mail informed him to be there 30 minutes early. FIRST NOTE OF ADVICE: Arrive at LEAST an hour early. We arrived at the U.S Embassy at 7:35 a.m and there was a ridiculously long line. It is winter in Peru now and it was also drizzling so we were waiting outside in the cold getting wet! After about 30 minutes or so waiting outside, we went through security and had our items checked and scanned. SIDE NOTE: Don't even bother bringing a cell phone because they immediately confiscate that from you. lol. Don't bring electronics. The interview process was extremely easy. I, a U.S. citizen, attended the interview with my peruvian fiancee. The interview lasted a total of about 10 minutes. The only questions that were asked were: "Have you ever been to the US?", "Have you ever been denied a visa?", "How did you meet?", and "What is the wedding date?" Most of the questions were directed to me.
Tips:
Get there early. The line gets really long if you wait to long. If you get in early you can sit in the lobby while you wait instead of outside.
