Great experience, I am told. I was unable to attend the meeting with my fiancee. We read online to expect the whole process to take 4-5 hours, but it really took her about two. She arrived an hour early and was one of the first to be seen. Her consular interview told her I didn't need to be there and that they had all the paperwork on me they needed. The intervie itself was very casual and lasted about 4 minutes. My future bride thought the entire experience was positive. I'll submit another review in Spanish with more details after the Visa arrives in the mail. Cheers!

The interview process was a non-threatening, comfortable experience. We waited a long time outside and then before initial contact inside. We were in the embassy about 5 hours total. There was a long line when we arrived in the morning. We went to a couple windows to pay and present our initial documents and answer a few questions. Everyone was bilingual and let us choose English or Spanish. The interview itself took place in the closed room (Window 15?). We were in there for about 5 minutes (but the other immigrant visa interviews we saw were taking 15-25 minutes) and they asked two or three questions about our transition back to the US and then wanted some details on who the co-sponsor was. We were DCF-ing -- had been married a year, living together almost two, so we were sent on our way very quickly. They didn't ask to see the supporting evidence of a bona fide marriage. We had already presented financial co-mingling and friends and family affidavits with the I-130, as well as photo... read complete review

Although it was disappointing that interview our interview was scheduled for more than two months in advance (in late March for May 30th) we found the experience at this embassy professional and uneventful. 8am appointment - arrived at 7:30 and took nearly 30 minutes to process into the building. Our interview was complete and we were out the door some 40 minutes later. Most questions for my Peruvian wife (who had previously held a 10-year tourist visa) were with regards to any overstays she might have had (she did not) and how long we'd been with each other full-time (years, in our case). Me having my Peruvian residency certainly helped and quickly ended that line of questioning. Our interviewer from Atlanta was more interested in how we reacted to the cursory questions than to the answers themselves. A good experience after dealing with the morons over at the NVC.

Hello.... I wanted to tell every VJ member that Rosy and I were approved with \\\"flying colors\\\" our K1 Visa....We worked meticulously over the last months and waited patiently for the process to work...It does work if you do your homework and continue to be patient. I came to Lima although I didnt think it necessary...it meant alot to Rosy and now I am very glad I did. We are very happy and relieved now....I can say to all of you to be patient, do what you need to do and do not be discouraged....Rosy and I wish all of you the best of luck in your \\\"Visa Journey\\\"!
Best Regards,
Rosy & Jim
