Review for B2 Tourist Visa Renewal
My Peruvian spouse recently had her interview for the purpose of renewing her B2 Tourist Visa. She arrived around nood and her appointment wasn't scheduled until 1:30PM. They wouldn't let her in through security that early as they said everyone is at lunch (really?). The later let her in to the embassy. She was promptly interviewed.
They only asked her a few questions:
1. How many times have you visited the US on your last visa? (3 times last year)
2. How long were each visit? (28 days two times and 21 days one time)
3. Why were they so long? (Husband work schedule is 8 weeks in Peru, 4 weeks off)
4. Where does your husband work and reside? (Peru & Peru)
Then she said "Visa Approved".
Overall experience was excellent according to my wife. Just like it should be!

Arrived embassy at 0630 am. Entered at 0715. Fingerprints taken. Finally, called to speak to official. I was asked how I met my husband, when your husband first come to Peru, how many times he come to Peru. I carried 30 fotos of me and my spouse, cards he sent me, medical results and interview letter.
After looking at everything, he said, " Your visa is approved."
Total time at embassy: 6.5 hours.

My interview was scheduled at 8:45am, I got there 7:20 am and there was already a long line with atleast 70 persons.
I waited in the line about 15 minutes and got inside to the embassy to the next line, that took like 10 more minuts, then we went to the inmigrant visa area and waited approximately 30 minutes, after that they called me and asked me for the DS156 forms and the photos, they give me a green paper where was K1 marked to pay the $350, but there was a paper in the cashier where it said that they would start working at 9am so I waited, then they called me in the window 12, there was a lady very serious, who asked me for my birth certificate, the criminal records, and the affidavit of support, asked me how I met my fiance, how many times had he come and if I have been married before, then I answered to that, and then she asked me if I had more pics ( sha had in hand the ones my fiance sent in the petition) I gave her about 45 more pics, she told me to sit down and that ... read complete review

We arrived at 8:30 am. We were called to a window at noon. We were called to the room at 2 pm. More than 6 hours waiting. It was a very mysterious process.
Window in Spanish, room in Spanish and English.
Questions asked: How did we meet, why did we decide to get married, if my husband has family in the US, if he has ever been to the US.
My tax history asked, since it didn't match well my current (higher) income.
It was a long and mysterious day! but approved
one week to get passport back
