Interview Date: Feb 3rd 2014
Time: 8:45 am
I arrived at the embassy a 7:35 am. There was a huge line in front of the embassy already. I stood in line and immediately a woman came (probably saw my x-ray envelope) and told me to stand on the other line. There were only 2 people on front of me.
Right after I got in line, they let some of us through the metal detector. They took my phone and headphones, and went through my purse. They pointed out the building we needed to head to and we were on our way.
When I reached the building, a lady asked for my appointment letter and let me through, she asked to go all the way to the end of the hallway (The first half is for non-immigrant visas). There was plenty room to seat, but there were at least 12-15 people there already (some belonged to the same party).
At 7:40 I was already sitting inside the building, I waited for 5 minutes before they called me to Window 11. Note there... read complete review

I went to Peru to accompany my fiancé to his interview.
Our interview was 845 am but we got to the embassy at 7 am, and there was already about 30 people in line. We got parking right in front, and walked up to the line. I stood in line while my fiancé (Peruvian) went to make sure this was the correct line since we had read that sometimes people get places in a shorter line. They told us to stay in that original line.
A man came out and said some words and a bunch of people went over to another line. We weren’t sure why, so my fiancé went to ask and the told him again to stay where we are.
We got near the front of the line and a lady asked to see our DS160 confirmation page and our interview letter. She saw our type of visa and sent us over to the other line that had just formed. She gave us a number on a small green paper (I forget when we gave this back, maybe when my fiancé got called to the window for the first time)

My appointment was at 8.45am. I arrived at the embassy at 7.40am. There was a very long line but I showed my appointment letter to one of the security guards and he told me to go stand in the shorter line (4 people before me). A “promotora” was checking appointment letters and writing down a number on each. I got number 26 on mine. We waited for about 15 minutes to get in. They made me leave my phone with them, checked my bag, and went through a metal detector. They asked me if I had an inhaler (which I did) and asked me to try it on me and they let me keep it.
I walked into the waiting area, they checked my bag again and went through another metal detector. The room wasn’t full, there was plenty of seating room and the AC was on, which was nice because it was very warm outside.
It probably took about 15 minutes before I heard my name, a lady called a group of 5 names to go to window 12. She asked me for my passport, confirmation page (of the DS-160... read complete review

My fiance and i arrived to the embassy at 6:30am . There was a line of approx. 7 people. Gladly the climate was good. It is summer here and most of the times early in the mornings the sun is shining and burning so it is hot but it was a nice and fresh morning. The line start moving at 7:15am. First we passed through a machine that looks like the airport and they took only my cellphone. Then we get in and We went to a big room with air conditioner. Inside there are some windows that are for tourist visas and then separately other windows for immigrant visas. We sat on the benches and wait. I was called to a window, I think it was 10, and there was a Peruvian lady on a computer. She asked for my passport and if I had my other passport (I did and give it to her) and my passport pics. Then waited and called again and went with my fiance but she told my fiance to sit down. She was nice and asked for 2012 taxes, the I-134 form, my police certificate and my other to certificates (antecedentes... read complete review

My fiance got to the Embassy late. Her appt was for 8:45am ,but of course there happened to be a bad accident as well as monday morning traffic in Lima. She arrived to the front of the Embassy at 9am. They told her to go to the back of the line, and she waited. They said her being late was not a problem, they were very understanding.
Once into the embassy they had her go to a window to pay, and then to another window to show all of the paperwork. Here she had to give everything, photos, logs, proof of support, medical results. We printed off a million logs, and the woman said she would only want 1 from each -lol. She was very friendly, and kind. My fiance, and her were laughing about all the logs we printed off. The woman at the window then started asking personal questions like oh how did you meet "him" , when did you meet "him" ... my fiance kept responding with the answer but saying "HER" which confused the woman at the window. The woman at the window then started go... read complete review
