My fiance got to the Embassy late. Her appt was for 8:45am ,but of course there happened to be a bad accident as well as monday morning traffic in Lima. She arrived to the front of the Embassy at 9am. They told her to go to the back of the line, and she waited. They said her being late was not a problem, they were very understanding.

Once into the embassy they had her go to a window to pay, and then to another window to show all of the paperwork. Here she had to give everything, photos, logs, proof of support, medical results. We printed off a million logs, and the woman said she would only want 1 from each -lol. She was very friendly, and kind. My fiance, and her were laughing about all the logs we printed off. The woman at the window then started asking personal questions like oh how did you meet "him" , when did you meet "him" ... my fiance kept responding with the answer but saying "HER" which confused the woman at the window. The woman at the window then started going thru the photos, and said.. who is this woman? ( me... hahah ) My fiance said, that is my fiance Donna.. I kept trying to tell you she was a female, but you looked confused. At this point the woman at the window became red, and started laughing.. apologizing profusely to my fiance. Then proceeded to tell my fiance how pretty I was, and that we look extremely beautiful together. lol.. my fiance was very comfortable with this. They just talked about our relationship, and how being gay in Peru isnt the same as being gay in the USA. Finally after 20 minutes of just talking my fiance was told to go sit down. She sat down, and waited with other people for 2 hours.

While sitting waiting you could see people leaving the room.. some sad, some happy, some confused. My fiance just focused on talking to others around her to distract herself. She was then called into the room.

Once in the room it was a man, behind a glass window. You sit in front of him, glass between you. You have to be sworn in by a book promising you wont lie, standard. The man asked the SAME questions the woman at the window asked. I think they do this to make sure your story matches up, but obviously you have nothing to worry about if your relationship is true!!!

Questions asked were...
How did you meet?
When did you meet?
What does your fiance do for work?
What do your parents think about you marrying a woman?

He was very polite, and friendly as well. They all made my fiance feel so comfortable. At the end he said... well.. i just want to congratulate you... are approved... and you are the FIRST gay couple to be approved at this consulate. My fiance said.. can you repeat that again? Just joking with him, and he laughed then repeated it again. He then went on to wish us a great life together, and that he was very happy for us.

My fiance left.
Next day, we both got an email from the officer who interviewed her.
There was a mistake with the finger printing machine. It didnt take her fingerprint right... so she has to go back, but they were kind enough to tell us that she can just go back the day before her flight leaves for the USA. So she has to go back to the embassy the day before she leaves Peru, to take fingerprints. Then come back the same day as her flight to just pick up the visa, and passport.

All in all... amazing experiencing at the Interview!
