Interview was October 27, 2011. My fiance was asked what my hobbies are and what he planned to do in USA. He was asked if he had any friends or family in USA. The man who interviewed my fiance was very easy to talk to and we had a great experience!
Approved!
We had more than enough evidence and a neatly put together package.

I was not able to be at the interview. The interview lasted about 10 minutes. The consular was very intimidating. He asked him about three times if he had some chronic illness. He does not, but he also had not seen the results of the medical so he did not know what was going on. He guesses this was a tactic to make him nervous?? The consular asked when did we meet, where. How many times did I go back to visit him. My fiance mentioned my grandmother was from Panama. He asked where in Panama is she from and is this location near the beach that he works.
Then the consular stated he needed tax returns from me and the co-sponsor for 2009 and 2010. Also, he needs some other court document. They kept all of his papers (originals and copies) and his passport. He was told they keep everything until he returns with the documents. The times to deliver papers are Monday and Wednesday only, between 8 and ll am. He had to pay the rest of the visa fee.
He returned with t... read complete review

I actually attended the interview with my Panamanian fiancee. In my opinion I think it made the interview and approval easier, as the question of whether we had a real relationship was pretty much eliminated when they saw me standing by her side. They actually only talked to her for about 4-5 minutes... then they asked to interview me alone and asked me the same few questions. Our answers matched and we were approved. If you have all your paper work in order and have paid all the fees, the interview is the last part which is like 10 minutes. I was a little stressed, but if everything is correct, there is nothing to worry about.

A review of our experience at the US Embassy in Panama:
- Although our appointment was at 1 pm, we arrived at the Embassy at 12:30 but were not let inside until 1 pm.
- There were about 4 other interviewees scheduled.
- After showing our Appointment Letter to security at the entrance, we were let in to the Consular Section and asked to hand in our Appointment Letter to the Immigrant Visa Unit window.
- We were called to the same window a few minutes later and asked to hand in: police certificate, I-864 Affidavit of Support, tax transcripts, and employment verification letter for petitioner. (They already had the I-130, G-325As, DS-230, passport copies for both petitioner and beneficiary, photographs for beneficiary, birth certificates for both petitioner and beneficiary, and marriage certificate from previous packets.)
- Then, we were asked to go to the Cashier window to pay the $404 in fees. It was 1:35 by now.... read complete review
