Review Topic: K1 Visa

Salaam(Peace) all,
My fiance and I really need your help.
I'm very upset and saddened right now.

Here's our story: My fiance and I met 3 years ago and applied for K1 visa late last year. We gave them all the evidence that they needed (pictures, forms, and what nots) and we finally got an interview date on Sept. 20th.

My fiance went to his interview today around 8:00am (his time) and it was a very short interview (maybe 5mins). In the end, they told him that he will likely become a charge of the state since I don't have a job and can't support him. (I never had a real job because I was still in school and when I finally did get a real job, after I was done with school, it only lasted for 2 months) My fiance told the man that my mom is cosponsoring with me since she makes way over the 125% poverty line but the man said the K1 visa doesn't allow any co-sponsorship and gave him a letter saying he was going into AP until we fix this.

Ok,they gave me 221 (g), but kept my passport and not sending my case back to USCIS, thank god!
Now the reasons: Since our marriage has not yet been consummated, they asked for more proof of marriage completion rituals, which is the next step.
Secondly, my joint sponsor also didn't qualify, other than that the interview went pretty well.
Oh the questions one which got me tongue twisted:
Q. How did your parents think you will be suitable for each other? (arranged marriage)The rest of the questions were pretty much the usual and generic.

Reached embassy around 7:30 through shuttle service; my brother accompanied me to the embassy. He stayed outside the embassy and I entered the embassy through a couple of security checks and fifteen minutes wait. As I entered the embassy i was made to sit in the hall for 15 to 20 minutes before finger printing. After fingerprinting the guard guided me towards main interview hall where people were waiting...I don't why but my name was not called till I had spent a couple of hours in that hall and the people who came after me all submitted their passports and medical reports after their names were called. This wait made me a little worried and i had started having severe headache. Then I went to window no. 7 where all documents were being submitted and asked the pa... read complete review

We scheduled the taxi the night before. We left the guest house at around 6:17AM and we got to the shuttle station around 6:45AM. We deposited our cell phone and then went through security and eventually caught the shuttle. We got to the embassy finally and the USC and I went through two separate security points. Then inside we waited on the right hand side to be called for fingerprinting. The USC waited for me and I was fingerprinted. Then we eventually were called into the actual interview waiting room area. I was later called to sign the DS-230 by aa long haired Pakistani man and then given a burgundy square sheet with a number on it. Then I waited more with the USC. There were others who were interviewed before me and I was amazed that you could hear their interview over loude speaker. I guess maybe the interviews are being recorded now or pehaps that is just so that they hear you more clearly through the glass window. I was called with the USC to the window #4 where a white blond-... read complete review

Here is my story!

I reached islamabad two days before just in case the PIA gets delay or other issue which are common here so I reached on monday.

On wednesday I had my interview: I booked metro cab which is safe and left for embassy at around 6:25am because my stay was at merriott which is less than 10 kms to embassy.

At 6:45am I was at embassy entered inside to buy the tickets for shuttle; there I saw a big que and thought should have come much earlier than 6am, fortunately everything for me was so quick, like ALLAH sent some angel to help me. Anyways I bought the shuttle tickets and then deposit my cell phone in a counter outside the shuttle services room, again went inside to be in a que for security check and to sit inside the shuttle, shuttle starts and took around 15 mins to reach at embassy exactly.

at 7:20 am I was called for finger printing of 8 fingers and 2 thumbs from there they asked me to go to window 7 in ano... read complete review
