Our experience with the American Embassy in Oslo was great! Throughout the process everyone was very helpful!
They only conduct interview on Wednesdays. Ours was scheduled for 9:00. We showed up at 8:15 to go through security. At 8:40ish I was called to a window and asked to sumbit all the paperwork, photos and to pay the fee. They only accept CASH, kroner or USD. After we submitted all the docs, we waited another ten minutes. I was asked to fill out another affidavit of support (I'd filled out the wrong form).
Our interview was very short, less than 10 minutes. We stood together in the waiting area and answered questions asked an American woman behind a glass counter. She smiled, laughed and even joked with us. The questions were about where we'd met, what we were doing in Norway, what we would do in the States, ect. She took notes in the computer but seemed like she was trying to get to know "our story".

My husband and I had our interview on June 7th 2006. I had submitted DS-230 part I and documentation in April/May for prescreening and I was done with all the medical. My husband submitted the petition and the affidavit of support at the interview. We had the appointement at 9 am, showed up at 8.30 to go through security, turned in our papers, forms and passports, payed all the fees. We waited for a while they processed our papers and the background check for my husband; and then there was a short interview.
All our preparations were rewarded: Petition and my application approved and I could pick up the visa the day after! We were done at 9.30 am!
Nice and helpfull people working at the embassy, only reason they get one less star is that the information they gave us via e-mail and telephone during the process was confusing and changing from week to week... And they would say in our phonecalls that they hadn't received papers I had se... read complete review
