Our experience with the American Embassy in Oslo was great! Throughout the process everyone was very helpful!
They only conduct interview on Wednesdays. Ours was scheduled for 9:00. We showed up at 8:15 to go through security. At 8:40ish I was called to a window and asked to sumbit all the paperwork, photos and to pay the fee. They only accept CASH, kroner or USD. After we submitted all the docs, we waited another ten minutes. I was asked to fill out another affidavit of support (I'd filled out the wrong form).
Our interview was very short, less than 10 minutes. We stood together in the waiting area and answered questions asked an American woman behind a glass counter. She smiled, laughed and even joked with us. The questions were about where we'd met, what we were doing in Norway, what we would do in the States, ect. She took notes in the computer but seemed like she was trying to get to know "our story".
The K3 process moved quickly! It took less than 1 month from the date we filed to the date we were approved! We did a lot of work on our end to be ready with the medical, gathering docs, ect. before the interview was scheduled.
Our petition was approved. They said they could have it ready for us that day but I am going to pick it up on Friday. (Two days later). You also have the option to have it mailed but we didn't feel comfortable with this option.
The Embassy in Norway does things their own way and move FAST!
