My fiance got to the embassy early before his 7am appointment. He said everything was orderly, there were no long lines as previously expected and the security personnel were friendly, the COs were also very friendly,he was asked just a few questions like, who i do for a living, where i work, what are my duties at my job, has he met my parents [they are dead]who the people in the pictures we submitted were and he was asked again if my parents approved of our relationship, which to him was odd because he has previously answered that my parents died 12 years ago. He also reinterated what previous interviewed couples have said in older post that one needs to be confident while answering the questions and we thank God, his visa was approved and he will be picking up next week at another location.

Officer asked some rather inappropriate questions such as did his father die because he is marrying a white woman. Wanted to know what my deceased parents did , he said dead people do nothing. The have the K1's show up early in the morning and interview them almost last. What a waste of a day.

Gabriel said everything was wonderful. Yesterday he went and got a hotel close to the Consulate. Arrived at 5:20 a.m. At 7:00 he was let in. He first showed his interview letter and they checked to see if his name was on the list. They then gave him a paper with a number on it, and then he went to pay his visa fee. He then had to wait a while, and then was called into cue. He waited in cue for a while and then was called by a very nice lady who collected his receipt and card, and immediately started asking him questions.
1) Who filed your petition?
2) How did you meet? (We met because I had formed a Foundation and asked a Nigerian friend of mine if he had any contacts in Nigeria who I could work with on an HIV/AIDS project. My friend said he knew someone in Delta State who had an NGO and gave me Gabriel's website address. I then contacted him.)
3) Who is this friend? What does he do for a living? When's the last time he visited Nigeria?

We were approved so of course I think his experience was great!
He got there early enough and was in line. Someone told him about paying the visa fee at the bank so he got out of line and went see about it. This wasn't the case for the type of visa he was there for. When he got back, he was last in line. At some point they gave him the visa amount to pay and a number. After that, he was sent to a cashier to pay. Then he had to go and submit all the required forms including his birth certficate, medical info, etc. At that point, the person collecting the info said he wanted to see a photo of me and he looked at the photos of what I submitted w/ my petition and my SO bragged on me saying that I was beautiful...he's so sweet. After that he waited a while and then onto they went into another area where the interviews were taking place. He was the last to be interviewed. He watched others very closely while they were interviewing. He said there were 3 men and one female interviewing... read complete review
