Review of Cd Juarez Consulate (going with 2 children!)
June 23 Thursday-We flew into Cd J from Cancun, airport was pretty simple to navigate & you can get taxis to hotels for $21usd. It was very hot & dry. The taxi driver was nice & showed us the consulate area on the way to hotel (about 15-20 minutes from airport) I did not feel unsafe on this drive.
We had a reservation at La Quinta hotel (if you use this code HOMEDL when you make online reservations it will save you between $7-10usd per day!!!) Nice hotel with pool, laundry room ($7usd), free excellent breakfast, guarded, free copies & fax if you need it they are so helpful! I cannot say enough good things about the staff at La Quinta! I had an AT&T signal from our room & all around the hotel so my calls to USA were free (cool) also there is free internet service & you do not need a password or code so it is super simple, ice machines , pop machines etc!
We put our name on the list for 6am free van ride to our ... read complete review

mi historia en ciudad juarez

llegada a juarez:

We arrived on Sunday July 3rd to Ciudad Juarez, did the medical exam on Monday July 4th, the ASC appointment on Tuesday July 5th and had the interview on Wednesday July 6th.

THE MEDICAL:
My fiance went to the medical at 6:30 am, I can't remember which one he went to, but both of them are right next to each other. He brought his passport, invitation letter and the appointment confirmation letter with him. He said that they took his picture and asked him some easy health related questions. After that they took his blood and did an eye test. Once in with the Doctor, he had to take his clothes off, but he could leave his underwear on. The doctor asked him if he had any problems with the police in the US or Mexico, if he did drugs or if he had tattoos. He checked him with the stethoscope, and then did ask him to take his underwear off. He said it was quick though and the doctor only looked, nothing else. He also asked about different birth marks and scars on his body, ... read complete review

this is my review of our trip to Juarez,

Getting to Juarez:

i left after work in austin and drove to Saltillo on Thursday the 30 of June. Friday and Saturday we finished up with getting all the papers in order and maid sure we had everything. Sunday morning we left Saltillo on a bus to Monterrey at 3:15 am, flew from monterrey at 6:10 am to Juarez. we arrived at 6:45 (one hour time difference) and took a taxi to the Holiday Inn Express (cab charged $245 pesos). we already had reservations and checked in. Rested up because we did not sleep at all the whole tip. Holiday inn express was a nice hotel, the people where nice, even thou it was a little more expensive the other hotels you can stay at, it was close to the embassy and food places.

Monday (7-4-11) morning the Medical Exam:

we woke up at 4:30 so that she can shower and get ready for the medical exam. We left the hotel at 5:10 and walked to the where the medic... read complete review

I recieved by e-mail my appoinment letter 2 bussines days after we got a Case Complete at NVC, that was on May 17th and the appointment was scheduled the 14th of June at 7:15 AM

BIOMETRICS (FINGER PRINTS AND PICTURE) AND DHL BRANCH
Before the appoinment you need to submit your biometrics, which is your fingerprints and pictures at a CAS (Centro de Atencion a Solicitantes) on the following web page you find the info to make an appoitment either online or on the phone www.usvisa-info.com there you get all the instructions you need. I did it on the phone since I had trouble online trying to do it.
You can find a CAS right were any US consulate or the US Embassy are and since you can get your biometrics done at any of those I chose Mexico City, since it was the nearest to me, but if you can pick the nearest to you, it doesn't have to be in Ciudad Juarez but you need to make sure that you do it before the appointment. If you don't get it done in Ciudad Juarez ... read complete review
