this is my review of our trip to Juarez,
Getting to Juarez:
i left after work in austin and drove to Saltillo on Thursday the 30 of June. Friday and Saturday we finished up with getting all the papers in order and maid sure we had everything. Sunday morning we left Saltillo on a bus to Monterrey at 3:15 am, flew from monterrey at 6:10 am to Juarez. we arrived at 6:45 (one hour time difference) and took a taxi to the Holiday Inn Express (cab charged $245 pesos). we already had reservations and checked in. Rested up because we did not sleep at all the whole tip. Holiday inn express was a nice hotel, the people where nice, even thou it was a little more expensive the other hotels you can stay at, it was close to the embassy and food places.
Monday (7-4-11) morning the Medical Exam:
we woke up at 4:30 so that she can shower and get ready for the medical exam. We left the hotel at 5:10 and walked to the where the medical buildings are. THIS IS IMPORTANT: there are gentlemen with "badges" on a neckless. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM!!! they have no affiliation with any of the to medical buildings, they are there only to take money from you. They tell you that you need to "register for the medical exam" dont do it. The only people you should listen to is the people in uniform. Go to the gate at ether medical building (we went to CLINICA MEDICA INTERNACIONAL) and there a person in uniform will tell you where to wait. If your the partitioner or some one accompanying the person getting the medical exam, they will ask you to follow them to a waiting room that goes around to the back of the building. We got there at 5:15 and the started letting people in at 5:50. The things they asked her for was: passport, letter from the consult, and interview conformation page. They sit you down in a waiting room, then she passed in a room where they took her blood, then eye exam. Next they asked her to go to another room where she had to undress completely where the doctor asks you a list of questions. Next she went to get an x-ray, and since the dont ask for vaccinations for K-1 visas she was done. She went looking for me at the waiting room. At 2 pm we went to pick up the results. They give you a black bag, a cd with your x-rays and a paper for vaccinations. DO NOT OPEN THE BLACK SEALED ENVELOPE! You keep the cd and vaccination papers, the consult gets the black sealed envelope.
Tuesday (7-5-11) ASC:
its located on the north side of the embassy in a shoping square by the embassy waiting room (sala de esperanca). I read people say that you need to have your ASC appointment scheduled 2 days before your interview (it may be nice incase if theres a problem) but it was not necessary. Her appointment was at 2:20 pm and we went there a hour earlier (not the best idea). The sun was out and it was hot! they have the appointment times posted on the window. you wait till your time is up and you form a line and they let you in. They ask for your passport, interview conformation, the latter form the embassy, and your DS-260 conformation page. You go in and you have to go through security like at an airport. Inside she sat 20 minuets waiting to call her, then she was called to get her fingerprints and picture taken. All in all it took about 45 minuets from the time she went in till she was finished. They stap your DS-260 form showing that you went there.
Wednesday (7-6-11) the interview:
she dressed in black dress pants, black 1 inch dress heals, and a nice top with her hair up. (she was probably over dressed but she wanted to look presentable). And also (which helped her out dramatically) was that we had a whole document box full her papers, my papers, evidence and other supporting evidence. because of that she was able to wait in the waiting room a lot earlier then she should of.javascript:emoticon('') guards and other people working there joked about the box and how she was the only one who has done that, they say that other people only take in a folder or 2 jeje.
First, Tuesday night we made sure we had all her papers in order. We got up 4:30 so she can get ready and to make sure we have all the her papers in order. At 6:10 we went to the consult waiting room ( la sala de espera del consulado) which is in the same square as where you have your ASC appointment. We got there 6:20 and the first thing they ask to see is your passport, letter form the consult and your DS-260 conformation (the one with the stamp from the ASC). There they stamp your thous papers again and the send you to the consult. There you show again the same papers. she entered another line outside of the consult for about 5 minuets then se entered. You go through security again like at an airport, then they give you a number. She went to a waiting room where they have the boards where it shows your number and what window to go to. She waited 20 minuets before the called her, and they called her to ask her for her: passport, the I-134 and supporting evidence, copies of my passport, and her birth certificate both original and copies. They stay with all the copies. Then also ask for your 2 passport photos and thats it that time. Five minuets later they called her again just to let her know that she will be seeing the interviewer soon. Half en hour later they called her to talk to the interviewer, which my fiancee tells me was a very nice person. Who joked about the document box asking if it was all for her, my fiancee replays with yes. And she started laughing and said NOOO jeje nooo i dont want all that. She only asked my fiancee how and where we meet. and that was it!! She did not want to see any of our evidence or any other documents!! She was very nice and approved my fiancees visa!! they did not ask for my bank statements, or for her police recored (they just asked if the had it and if she had a problem getting it), and the only time they asked to see the DS-156(k) was outside, and that was it!!! They kept her passport which i believe they send it back with the visa through DHL. and that was it
Thursday we just killed time because there was no flights out till Friday.
