Husband was scheduled at 7:15a on Friday,Dec 6th for his IV appointment. He arrived 15 minutes early and was directed to the "sala de espera" which is located outside. He was called to turn in his documents then waited for about an hour when he was called to his interview. The interviewer swore him in and asked him whether he preferred to interview in English or Spanish. My husband chose Spanish. He was asked a series of questions about me(petitioner) and my family. The whole interview lasted about 10 minutes until he was told that his Visa was APPROVED! He was given some instructions on how to track his documents via CSC website and was advised that his paperwork should be available for pickup at DHL within a week. The NVC website states that his Visa was issued as of 12-9-2013. We are waiting for a Waybill number to appear so he can get his papers and head home!

My daughter (K2) and I (K1) had our interview on November 8, 2013. Besides the guards at the entrance of the consulate, which are pretty rough (rude), everything went well.

First an officer reviewed our documentation. They asked for:
-Form DS-160 for K1 and K2. Although the invitation letter from the Consulate told we needed to present DS-260, at the CAS they indicated that the processes had changed and DS-260, DS-156 and DS-156K were no longer required, just DS-160 for for both of us. I brought all of them just in case.
-Original and copy of birth certificates (with translation) for K1 and K2.
-Original and copy of divorce sentence (with translation) for K1.
-Affidavit of support and supporting documentation (letter from my fiance's work stating salary, payment stubs, 401K and pension balances is what I presented).

After reviewing the documents, the officer included the papers in the file and told me to go to the cashier to sh... read complete review

Here is our experience and I will try to give as much info as possible. I apologize for my grammar ahead of time.
We received NOA2 on June 19, 2013 and about a week later I started calling the consulate call center as per what others had advised on Visajourney. I was told that my initial appointment letter was mailed on June 26, 2013 and to wait about 10 days to see if I would receive it. I was also told that it would be sent to both of the petitioner and applicant. I am the petitioner. I called back 10 days later, which was July 8 and this time I received another story by the call center representative. I was told that I had to wait another 5 days but that I could call the NVC and get the case, invoice and beneficiary numbers to start the DS-260 online application. I called the NVC and was waiting for about 35 minutes to finally get through. I did receive the information without any issues. We proceeded to complete the application online and setup the DHL information, ASC and... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiance had his interview on Tuesday, October 15th. His appointment was at 7:15 and he was finished by 9:30 a.m. I was unable to accompany him. He said the waiting was the worst part but that the actual interview itself took only 20 minutes. He was asked just six questions. He was approved and his visa was issued today!! Overall he said the experience was good, the workers friendly and the consular officer extremely friendly and professional. We are so relieved, grateful, overwhelmed and extremely happy that we will finally be able to be together!
