Day one: arrived in Juarez Airport and took a taxi from the Travel Agency, Monica. They charge $245 pesos to the hotel area right next to the embassy. We booked our stay already at Hotel Ibis. Received our room only to find out that the shower wasn't working so while they did maintenance, we just watched T.V. Then later found out we had to switch rooms the following morning. Also, we would need to use the restroom of another room to shower, meanwhile. Lame!!! They gave us two breakfast passes to "make up" for it... That night we ate at the hotel where the prices for the food are ehh so so and of course the portions are not too big but the food is so so. Did not get any sickness lol.

Day 2: My fiances, medical exam was set up at Medicos de Visas, located behind the hotel basically ($190 dls and they don't charge tax for the exam, they say if vaccine shots are included maximum is $360dls). His exam was originally for 11am, but they called the day before notifying us that w... read complete review

My husband and I were in Ciudad Juarez from May 25 to May 29, his interview being on the 28th. We knew going in that my husband would be denied his visa at his interview due to his previous unlawful presence in the US and subsequent deportation. Since he's currently living Mexico right now, we will be submitting our I-601 and I-212 next week.

But on to the review, shall we?

HOTEL

We stayed at La Quinta Inn and really enjoyed our stay there. It was $52/night when I booked, which I thought was reasonable. There's a fridge, microwave, ironing board, and hair dryer. The hotel also includes free breakfast every morning and has a nice pool to swim in during the really hot days. There is a free shuttle bus tjay comes around every 30 minutes that can take you to all of your appointments, which was really nice since LQ is father from the consulate than the other hotels. LQ is a 5 minute walk from S-mart for anything you need, and buses that run right ... read complete review

The consulate experience was as others described for Ciudad Juarez. Medical was done at Servicos Medicos which was very professional, ASC and consulate interview were straightforward and as expected my fiancée was given the option to file the 601 and 212 waivers based on overstays and working without authorization. We hired an immigration attorney at the start of the K1 process to file the waivers which will be sent by May 31, 2015. More updates to come.

Arrival:
My husband's interview was set for a Tuesday, so we decided to do his medical on Friday in order to have a day in between the medical and interview in case they didn't give us the results the same day. I'm glad we did that because some people who had their medical Friday weren't given their results until Monday. It was worth not having to worry about that. We flew into Juarez from Tijuana on Thursday on Aeromexico. Hotels aren't allowed to have shuttles from the airport so you must take a taxi. The taxi from the airport to the area with all the hotels was 250 pesos. You pay inside and give your receipt to the taxi driver who takes you. Its about a 10-15 min drive.

Hotel:
We stayed at the Wyndham Microtel in a “queen suite” which is a larger room with a kitchenette, since we were traveling with our 10 month old son and wanted him to have more room to play. There is a queen bed on one side and on the other is a couch that turns into another bed... read complete review
