- Interview:
He had a Hmong interpreter. There were two CO there that day, a female and a male. He said the male CO is friendly and only asked like 4 questions then either approves or request for more stuff or denies. the female CO (the one he had) isn't as friendly and asks a lot of questions. He was asked 14 questions and was able to answer 13 of them. The CO also kept asking him if we were introduced to each other, implying that we weren't legit. We weren't denied or approved but got a 221(g), requesting for more information. After which we would be given a decision or possibly put on adminitrated processing.
He also said there were two other K1 there that day and they didn't get approved right away either. One needed police certificate and the other had to have her petitioner rewrite a more detail explanation to how they met.

My fiance requested a Lao translator even though she and I speak Hmong to each other. The Consulate felt the need to drill my fiance on this. My fiance replied that she is more fluent in Lao and prefer speaking Lao when interacting in a "official" manner where as she speaks Hmong to me because I do not understand Lao and us speaking in Hmong is not so serious nature. My fiance's rational won out. Unfortunately, the Lao translator was also the Consulate who was horrible in Lao.
These Basic questions were asked: How we met. When was the last time we saw each other. My job position. How many immediate family members do I have.
There were 4 others that morning for Visa interviewing. My fiance and another girl were the only 2 who passed.

I was not present at the Interview.
She was only asked 3 questions: When was the last time we saw each other, who all accompanied her at the interview, how we know each other?.

The interview went pretty well. It took a long while before it was my fiancee's turn but when it finally was, she was asked to go up to window 2. From there the interview took place. The first thing they asked her was how did we meet. From there on it was the general questions all they way till they asked her when our wedding was. She said she knew it was in August but wasn't sure on the date and for them to ask me since I'm right there with her and the consulate looked at me just said to my fiance, "OK, that's fine, you are approved". I think it's actually a big plus to have me there but who knows. All in all, besides the, at the time, unavoidable nervous breakdown, it went very smooth. We were told to come pick up her visa the following Wednesday. I purchased our plane tickets way in advance but everything worked out.
