My fiance and I had an unconventional interview experience, but we earned an “approval” so this story has a happy ending. Here are the details:
We arrived for his appointment on Nov. 4 about an hour early, and I waited with him in the line outside until it was time for him to go inside. I was not allowed inside the Consulate even though I asked nicely and previously emailed them for permission, which was also denied.

It took 4 hours before my fiance came out of the building. The clerk asked him for some preliminary documents: his birth certificate, Form #807 (honorable army discharge), the I-134, my latest tax transcript (I had the previous 3 years but he only needed the most recent), a recent W2 (we had several), along with a few others. We organized our documents in a three-ring binder with the documents in page protectors (do not punch holes in your documents, use page protectors!) and the clerk complimented my fiance on how organized his documents were.<... read complete review

My husband's interview was at 9:45. About 45 minutes before he stood in a long line to enter the embassy. Once he was inside, the took his pictures and addressed envelope and then he had about another gour wait.A lady with a bob cut hairstyle interviewed him. She was very pleasant and asked a few questions about our marriage and about what we plan on doing in the States (my husband, son, and I live in Israel). She seemed to know our case very well and after he answered her questions she told him he was qualified for a visa. He waiting a little bit longer until he was called again with information regarding pick up of his passport and information on how to pay the final immigration fees and he was out the door around 12pm. We were very very organized and well prepared. Overall it wasnt at all as bad as we anticipated.

We had an 8:30 appointment, I was allowed to go in with my husband. He was called three times to a window, the first to provide his original civil documents, passport, photos and medical exam, the second for the interview with the Consular Officer (which I was also allowed to participate in) and the third to know what's next.

The interview itself took about 10 minutes, we had the lady with chin-length brown hair and glasses - she was very nice and professional. We both took the oath, he did biometrics, then we started the interview. She asked a couple of questions, I answered some, he answered others, they were mainly to verify the legitimacy of our marriage, ask about our plans in the US, and then to clarify a few things specific to his case (related to where he's lived and the needed police certificates which we had). She seemed to know our file very well and had read the many papers I had submitted to NVC. It was nice that someone read through what took us so much ti... read complete review

Interview was quick and easy. Someone gathered my paperwork first. Then I got called in to the CO and did the affidavit in front of her. Bio-metrics next. She was very friendly and smiles all around. She went through my paperwork real quick and looked at our pics while asking a couple of questions about us and him.
After a moment she said "I approve your petition. Welcome to the United States." I was on cloud 9.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.

My husband's interview was on 4/24/2015 and was not a good experience. I was not allowed inside with him, so I waited for over 3.5 hours outside.

Unfortunately, Lior was interviewed by the woman with the short/deformed arms (several other people have posted entries about her), and she was very rude, mean, abrupt and condescending. The entire interview seemed to be a big head trip - she would ask him a question about our marriage, then shake her head in disbelief and leave the desk for 10 minutes. This happened three times during his interview. At one point, she accused Lior of not knowing his date of marriage (July 3, 2013). He assured her that he knows the date and then she said, "Well, your marriage certificate must be wrong." Lior pulled out his photocopy and assured her that the date was correct - 03/07/2015 and she said that it read March 7, 2015. Lior reminded her that we got married in a European country and that is the correct date format for all European count... read complete review
