OK so here we go... after exactly 8 months since Vermont received our petition, I had my interview finished an hour ago.

My interview time was 1 pm so I got there at 12:40. Went through the security check, left my phone and my keys in the locker and went to the main building for my interview. Got my ticket which was of no use as they were calling us by names but either way the security guy asks you to take one...

I sat down and after around 40 minutes maybe (had no watch on me but felt like forever) I was called to the window no 4 and asked for all the paperwork:

Birth Cert + translation
Police cert
I - 134, Letter from employer, Pay stubs
DS156 x 2
Pasport Photo x 2
DS156K
My passport
My medical (without the x ray)
Self addressed envelope with a stamp for €12.5

I have been given a receipt and asked to go to window no 5 to pay €204 visa fee. Then I have been asked to ... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Myself and my wife(US Citizen) arrived at the Dublin consulate at about 12:50 on Sep 11th. There was a queue of a couple who we think were applying for a similar visa, a lone gentleman and then us. A few more couples and a family joined behind us after a few minutes. When we arrived there was a couple already going through the security hut. One group of people at a time were allowed in. Once that couple was let out of the security hut the family of 5 jumped the queue and went into the hut. This was the only negative point about our experience. After about 10 minutes we were allowed in. They took our mobiles and a small bag which we didn't need. The security was firm but pleasant. They put us through airport security screening, which was fine. They gave us our security passes and let us through and pointed us to where we had to go. When we walked into the building another security officer asked what type of visa we were there for and we said Immigrant. He gave us a ticket stub and we sa... read complete review

ok guys here we go.....Arrived at the Embassy at 12.45, we were let straight in to security, it was pouring rain. Airport style security, no electronics/liquids/cosmetics allowed in and passport required for id. Detailed to go to the right and up the ramp, where a officer is waiting he gives you a ticket and you take a seat of the right. We were told to watch the electronic board for our number and go to desk stated. There were 2 other K1 applicants there 2 guys on their own. 1 ahead of us and 1 after us. There are several numbered windows. after about 40 mins we were called to window 4 to pay for visa $240 International bank draft, told to sit back down and we would be called again! Irish guy was taking the money, he is friendly! After about another 40 mins we were called back to same window and same guy and ask to give our docs,he tells you what order, Passport, 156k with 2 photos(you sign that in front of him and fill in your fiance's name), birth cert, medical, police clearance, in... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Hello,
June 26th 2012 was my K1 Visa appointment date. Please bear in mind that I am an Irish born and raised citizen of Ireland marrying an American citizen in New York. I say that because if you were not born in Ireland but are now an Irish citizen, or just work and live in Ireland, or your parents are not Irish born, things may go different for you, in terms of what you are asked or what papers you need. My aim is to help with as much detail as possible.

The Dublin Embassy opens for petitions at 1pm. You wait outside, along the railings beside the guard entry, until you are allowed in. There is no shelter from the rain so be prepared for the weather. Parking is available all along Elgin road, raglan road and around Herbert Park. Bring plenty of change as the meter parking is expensive. In the two and a half hours I was there, it cost me €8 euro.

You will be checked through security (airport style) and asked to hand over phones, keys, notebooks an... read complete review

Time at embassy = 1 hour and 15 mins, breakdown roughly as follows:
10 minute chat with friendly security
5 minutes at counter preparing documents with grumpy lady
45 minutes waiting
15 minute interview

Interview scheduled for 1.45 I arrived at security at 1.30. It was simple airport like security, they provide you with a locker to put your electronics in but I was allowed to bring my briefcase in with me for documents. Chatted to the friendly security guys for a while and entered the building at 1.45 to my name being called over the tannoy to go immediately to counter#3. I am glad I had prepared my documents frivolously as it was pretty quick from here on in. It was relatively quiet in there when arrived, not so when I was leaving,I'd advise to get there early and try to get in ASAP

The infamous grumpy Irish lady asked for;
my passport and one photo,
to write my name and address on my large envelope with €8 stamp... read complete review
