My husband went to the US Embassy and waited for around 2 hours. Long story short, he was rejected because of my tax returns.
I made well above the 125% above poverty level, but almost half of that income was made outside of the United States. They only count the income you make in the United States.
I wish USCIS would have informed us of this 5 months ago when I sent in my tax returns! =( They then asked for a joint sponsor, which we did get but didn't want to have to get!
The Embassy kept his passport and said as soon as they received our joint sponsor's passport page copy they would continue processing the application.
So disappointing and I feel sorry for my husband because he said the woman he spoke with was very unpleasant, overly curt, and didn't take the time to answer all of his questions when he was just trying to figure out what our next steps should be.
