Only my wife went to interview (This review is based on my wife experience at the consulate and her interview)

She got there around 6:30 AM and there was already a lot of people standing outside. At 7:00 AM, they start calling the immigrant visa applicants to make a queue and they were calling by your interview time. No phones or big bags are allowed in the consulate. While you waiting in the queue, they tell you to take your passport and interview letter out and then you get in the consulate and you go through the securtiy check in and you put everything through the scanners and they pat you down.

After that, they tell you have a seat and then they will call you inside and ask if you are from South India or North India and they have separate counters for South India folks and for North India folk. Since my wife is from Kerala, she went to south India counter. While you are wait, they will tell you to arrange your documents: Interview letter, DS 260 stam... read complete review

I was there on 6:30 am for my 7:15 interview.. all are asked to wait on footpath opposite to consulate building.. don't worry, just wait.. security guard will wave his hand to call.. he called at 7:00 and said that only immigrants stand in queue and we went inside after checking passport and appointment letter.

1) security check (don't take yr medical CD with u.. they will not allow u to enter with that)

2) 16 counters are there but directly go to counter no 1, there u will get token nmbr after showing yr passport and appointment letter and yr time starts now

3) Waiting for my token number and arranged the docs- passport, ds160, PCC, medical, birth certificate and one bunch for AofS- I134, w2s, tax returns.. when my number displayed on screen I went to the window where the guy took my docs and returned me job letter of my fiancee, pay stubs, bank statement and again waiting

4) After waiting for an hour or so my interview starte... read complete review

Interview at Mumbai Embassy

Our appointment time was at 7:30 a.m., and we got there about 1 hr before that.
Ignore the single, very long line outside the consulate that leads to the left door of the main entrance; that's for non-immigrant visas. After lining up, we showed our passports and the appointment letter and went inside to security. We left our phones and electronics in the hotel so it was just a matter of putting my paperwork and walking through a metal detector and undergoing a pat-down search by a female officer for me, male officer for my fiance.

Once inside the complex, we walked by a big outdoors waiting area and went into another building where they process both non-immigrant and immigrant visas. After entering the building, there was a cordon that forced people to move to the right,... read complete review
