My husband arrived at the consulate around 6:45AM and waited for the purple shirt guy to let everyone in. You have to wait until 7:15 AM near Trident hotel entrance. After that, he went through security and selected English for language and was given a token number according to origin city (my husband is from South India so token was S). He was directed to a window to submit his DS-260, PCC, medical report, and passport. The person collected everything and give other remaining documents. After looking at your photocopies, they will return them to you.
Indian Officer asked following questions:
What is your name?
Who is calling you?
Documents.
Type of visa you applied?

After that, you are asked to wait for CO to call your name. Once the CO called, he was immediately told that the income of the petitioner was not enough and needed a joint sponsor. The CO proceeded with the interview and asked my husband to take an oath.

I did my VAC appointment in Hyderabad 6 days before the consular interview. There is decent parking and there is no point getting there more than 15 minutes early. Bring only what they ask: DS-160 confirmation page, appointment letter, passport. I was 7th in line. Took less than 10 minutes. They stamp your DS-160 page. Bring that stamped page to the consular interview.

For the consular interview, we had originally booked a hotel 5km away but it was raining heavily in Bombay, so to ensure that there were no problems, we switched to the Trident hotel. More expensive but hassle free. There is the Sofitel too. The hotel was alright. We ordered dinner from the Box 8 near the petrol station. They also deliver to the front of the hotel. Much cheaper than the hotel. There is a Sbarro Pizza too at the petrol station and if you are willing to walk further there are a bunch of other places.

The next morning, the appointment was at 7:15. I read a bunch of the reviews ... read complete review

My wife had her interview on 6/26 and got her visa approved. She had her interview at 7:30 and hence they allowed her only at 7:15 or so. The entire process took only two hours as she was taking her interview in Telugu. I have not seen my wife since one year and hence was very tensed about this question.

The questions were as follows-

1 Who is calling you to US?
2 When did you last see your spouse? Why didn’t he see you since one year?
3 Did you go for honeymoon?
4 Can see your wedding pictures?
5 Where does he work?

All in all the inter was smooth and our wedding and honeymoon photos helped significantly.

My recommendation will be to just be honest.

The interview was scheduled for 8.30 am. I needed to submit some original tax receipts which I submitted along with my documents. The documents were verified and then I was interviewed by the officer who asked me how I met my husband. I told her that it was an arranged marriage. She then asked me if our parents met to which I replied in the affirmative. She asked me a couple of questions about my husbands employment in the US. And after that she approved my case. We traveled to the US on 17 Nov 2017. Received my GC and SSN within 2 months of arrival.

Reached the venue at 6:55. Purple guy had already arrived and asked the immigrant visa applicants to form a line. Got lucky here as people were still crossing the road and got into the line among the first 10 people. Security check was a breeze and so was the document arrangement and verification (mistook document verification for interview as it was conducted at the same counter like that for interviews). Had a long wait of over an hour after all these before I was called for the interview. The US lady interviewer was nice in the beginning. A bit harassing towards the end where she expected an elaborate answer from me but I gave a short answer to her question 'what are your plans after reaching US?'. She was expecting an in-depth blue-print of our future plans after reaching the US :D.
Questions :
1. Who is calling you?
2. When did you get married? (she mentioned some date other than the correct date, i don't know if it was a test - I corrected her with the righ... read complete review
