My wife's experience at the Mumbai Consulate was pleasant. She sad the staff was friendly and everything went as hoped. The questions they asked her were:

1. How long has it been since your marriage?
2. Who is sponsoring you?
3. Where did you go for honeymoon?

She brought with her marriage album and honeymoon pictures. She also had copies of the phone bills. They didn't ask for single thing. But this doesn't mean not to take these things with you. Overall, if you have everything they require,on the day of the interview, there should be no worries.

Ok, my fiancee just got back from visiting the Delhi Embassy. Even though we have not received Packet 3 yet, she successfully dropped off the passport size photos, DS-156, DS-230, and applicant statements.

I made my own Applicant's Statement for her from the information on the Delhi Website, and I also printed out the Mumbai Embassy Packet 3 and had her go in with both; and the Embassy took both.

The embassy did not want the photocopies of her passport which we had brought. They did ask for form DS-156K which she didn't bring with her thanks to my stupid advice (I thought it was only needed for the interview.)

So... I have to send her back next week with DS-156K.

They said that it will take about a month for them process the paperwork, and two months thereafter she should have an interview date. So... if things go well, we should have a November interview. I'm not certain how accurate that information is; from other VJ timelin... read complete review

I had an accident and require surgery so I asked for a medical expedited case. It was straight away sent to Delhi and there we received packet 3 and 4. his interview was set and we did not get our visa. He was given a form 221 tasking for his ration cards and voters cards from 1990 to present. We have no idea why this happened. they never even looked at any paperwork or pics. what happens now I wonder?

Review Topic: K3 Visa

Manoj's interview was scheduled at 8 a.m. We arrived at the consulate around 7:30 to a line of people already waiting. I was so afraid that due to the number of people already waiting that we would be late, however, once they opened the line for business, it flowed fairly quickly and easily.

We got into the embassy around 8:15 and were told to wait. After about 20 minutes or so, Manoj was called to the first window. The gentleman asked if we had a co-sponsor and I asked why would we need one when I make more than double the amount we needed. He verified the household number, looked at the job letter and check stubs I brought with me and said okay. He also looked at my taxes. He kept the copy of my job letter that I brought even though all of these things had already been submitted to VFS prior to the interview.

After verifying the documents, he handed us the originals back that had been submitted at the VFS and told us to go pay the visa fee and bring hi... read complete review
