Arrived at the cosulate at 6.20Am. It was raining, almost 60 people already were waiting at the gate. A man came to me asked if I want to buy umbrella and I told no because it was expensive but no quality. I got sheltered with a guy there.
A security guard came around 7.20am and asked evryone to make separate lines for immigration and non-immigration. I stood in 20th position of immigration. Started going in at 7.35am. Got token number at 7.50Am.
Around 8.30Am an Indian lady asked to come to her counter and she handed over all the documents which I had submitted at VFS(Packet 4).

Arrived Mumbai Consulate at 6:25am. Security personals were instructing applicants to stand-in immigration or non-immigration queue based on your petition type.

I was about 7th in immigration applicants queue. By 6:40am there were about another 80 to 90 people added in immigration queue.

Officers instructed immigration applicants to enter consulate and complete security check-in at the entrance at 7:15am.
NOTE: Officers instructed to keep only first page of NVC interview letter outside (all other pages are not needed for interview).

I already had all my belongings placed in one bag so completed security check-in quickly and became 3rd in immigration queue.

Entered main interview lounge area for pre-screen interview with Indian Consulate officer (female officer mostly in early 30s). Pre-screen started around 7:25 while other immigrant applicants were still entering consulate.

FYI, they opened around 3 wind... read complete review

It was alright, I saw 4 people ahead of me get rejected. However, both of us took a ream of evidence. There were no questions after seeing all our proof.

My interview lasted a total of 5 minutes. I literally had to ask the Consular Officer if my interview was over when it was! He only asked me where my husband and I had met, what our families thought of our marriage, where I was working and in what capacity and about the countries I had lived in previously. That's all! Yes. The only time I had to wait was before the interview. Waiting in line, nervously, anxiously... well, the waiting has been the most taxing experience of this visa process. But the moment the Consular Officer said, "Your visa has been approved," I almost jumped and squealed with joy!

And now I'm in the US with the husband...waiting to turn my temp green card into a permanent one 90 days before our 2nd anniversary!

Just want to wish all of you the best of luck! Hope it all works out.
